Gotta love the 4G63

The shop that tuned my car has been busy getting their shop drag car ready for this season. They haven't even hooked the nitrous up yet

http://media.ams-evo8.com/videos/amsevo/AMS988.wmv

It's no dyno queen, and this is the same car that ran in One Lap last year.

http://media.ams-evo8.com/videos/ams...testflight.wmv

They also have a pretty sweet tow vehicle

If the RX-8 used cheater turbos like that, it would own the Evo. And plus it's an ugly grocery getter.

Ike, couldn't get your first link to work...is this shop up by you in Milwaukee? I'd probably swing by there with BlueRen and RSD sometime if everyone was up for it.

EDIT: Just saw it's here in Chicago. Pretty cool.

U do gotta love the 4g motor. My co worker had a 700whp 2G GSX built by himself and his shop at road race engineering. That thing was a beast. He even competed in the SCC ultimate shootout and had the best lap time on a road course. Too bad he sold the car. 700+hp+AWD is no joke.

that is a bad *** motor, there's a shop here in south jersey that's runnin a 10sec evo8, but i believe its "only" pushing 450whp. after over a decade of research on that little 4 banger it is still gettin better and better.

And the RX-8 would win in the twisties!

Plus the evo is all wheel drive (which is also cheating)! Everybody knows a real sports car is rear wheel drive! Try to race from highway speeds! See what your precious all wheel drive does there!

Yeah, I was joking. I couldn't let an Evo-Love post slip by without getting something like that in early.

this company seems to disagree with the rear drive only rule.

AMS > Vishnu though Shiv is a stand up guy and has done a lot for tuning 4 cylinder turbos, especially the WRX.

i remember the old car and driver when the evo first hit the U.S., they pitted it against an M3, a Carrera 4(all wheel drive), and a S4 i believe, the stock evo held its own in all the tests, then C&D threw a vishnu version in they at the end for the hell of it and it beat everything, plus it was just a limited upgrade: tuning, rear sway, and i think lighter rims and tires.

Yes, the very same one that didn't prep their car properly twice for BMI American Touge.

What are you talking about? They actually got robbed of a win because the Skyline wasn't prepped properly and had R compound tires when they were supposed to be illegal. American Touge is a freaking joke and has nothing to do with fairness, or using the fastest and best cars (I would imagine it's the same in Japan).

+1.

winners are picked based on the exterior and bling-bling factor, rather than pure performance accomplishments. vishnu's Evo was bone stock looking, with every piece of the interior still intact from the factory.....it'd be too boring to have that car on the video cover.

I think when you can light em up in 3rd in an AWD car with drag slicks you've gone too far They'll get it figured out, but not a great debut for the new setup

I'm not talking about who has the fastest car but I was all impressed by Vishnu products from most FI car forums about their mods at first. However seeing that the car failed twice before the pro drivers had a drive in it bring some doubt regarding their worksmanship or etc but that's just me.

Plus BMI Touge has always been about street tuned machines not cars that laps the fastest (with all the slicks, etc) but the most fun car to drive.

The intercooler pipe popped off, not exactly a Vishnu product problem. That car is also not really a Vishnu car, it's a customer car that Shiv supports. BMI touge is not about the most fun to drive street car, it's about who brings the cars that will look best on the cover of the DVD.
