I like the looks of the Tiburon, don't know much else about it other than the engine specs, but my wife had a '99 Sonata that was crap so we are weary of the Hyundai vehicles now. Hopefully you will not have the same problems that we had.
When you get the time give us a little info about the two cars feel, fit and finish and such and let us know how they compare. It'll be interesting for me to see how far Hyundai has come in the last 6 years. Hyundai seems to be putting out good cars at the current time.

Hyundai has been moving up the ladder, I think it was consumer reports had them either tied or ahead of honda in some sort of major reliabilty test. I think that is an indicator they aren't the crappy company they were 10 years ago. Let us know how you like the tiburon, nice car.

the clutch is a little nicer then the 8. and it has more comfortable seats. the layout of the interior is really nice, very sporty. i havent driven it hard or tried to see how it handles, i dont think she would appreciate it. it is a very nice riding car. we also drove the eclipse and the clutch in that was garbage, it let up so high. (higher then the 8, which i think is pretty high) overall it is a nice car, but it still has less then 100 miles on it, so i cant speak to its reliability. we got the bumper to bumper 100k miles warantee too, so there is no reason to worry about anything with reliability because it is covered. for 19k it is a very nice car, pretty slow even though it has the v6, but it has a great sound to it

Strap a Alpine Development SC on it, then we're talking. 240 whp. Did you see the souped up Hyundai that Lloyd drives in Entourage ? Too funny. Great little car for the price. I would consider it for low 20's.

I had a 2003 with Alpine Supercharger, headers, intake, exhaust, plenum spacer. Pulled high 13's at 103-104ish trap speeds. Everyone loved that car anywhere i went. I got, 'is that the new supra, ferrari, bmw....yaddah yaddah'. I had the Korean Tuscani badges all the way around. It really was one of the sweetest cars i had ever owned up until now. Def a highway beast. Had it for 2.5 years and obtained 83,000 miles and over 120 drag passes all on factory clutch. Supercharger was intalled for ~15k miles. Never had any major service hickups, only warranty work. Enjoy it! Oh and btw...no rwd for the tib. But......it is getting the lambda engine (3.3) with 244 horses.

it was roughly 19 and change, we got a free 6 disc and free subwoofer, and free undercarriage thing. they added that stuff later, so it wasnt on the sticker price and i told them they could take it off so we dont have to pay for it. they gave it to us for free which was cool. also they quoted us at 412 per month with a specific rate, and wrote that down. when we decided to get the car i got i slightly higher int. rate. but they still gave it at 412 because i made it seem like a deal breaker. we basically got it at invoice plus some free upgrades

I was seriously considering getting an 04 Tiburon last year, after being pleasantly surprised by the test drive. Acceleration in the V6 pushes you in your seat and the exhaust note is great! The interior looks quite good, with the exception of a few fake buttons on the console. Only problem I had with it was that the cabin felt cramped. Glad I decided to wait for the 8!

i drove the tiburon a little hard the other day, around turns and other type of roads and it handled pretty well, nothing compared to the rx8 though. since i had so many problems iwth the suspension of the 8 i had driven lots of other cars until mazda figured out the problem. i have learned to love the rx8 because it handles and performs so well
