As a goodbye present could you write up a comparison of the two vehicles according to your experience?

quote from Ign - "This newest Evo was track-tested at the Nurburgring, so the car feels most at home when it's either going really fast, driving through some "twisties", or while driving through the "twisties" really fast. At slower speeds, the Evo has a rough ride, and it will most definitely **** off your girlfriend or make her sick. But who cares about her? If she wants a more comfortable ride, she can drive her own damn car."

at least the Rx8 is a smoother ride..

the evo is a lot better or a lot worse depending on what you want.

if you want performance... you did good.

Gee...why didn't you just keep the 8 so you'd have the best of both worlds?

Wait... which world is the RX-8 best in? It's a great all arounder, but if you're going to have two cars an Evo and RX-8 would seem silly. Maybe something more practical or luxurious to go with either, but an RX-8 and Evo seems pointless to me.

Yep sports car and sports car (different kinds too be sure) just wouldn't make sense. Sports car and family car, sports car and truck, sports car and beater, sports car and luxury all make sense unles you just have loads of cash. But then if you have loads of cash wouldn't you be in an M3, M Coupe or maybe a C6? Then the Evo would be modded to hell as a track car

There are quite a few guys that do that. Even some Lambo and Ferrai owners have a modded Evo as their trackday car that they don't have to worry about spinning out and having a 20k+ repair bill.

why does everyone hold the M3 as such a great sports car if you have "loads" of money an M3 isnt the sports car you are going to be driving its more for upper middle class who are "comfortable" and its not that fast of a car and if you want to make it a fast car you are going to be paying whats its worth in parts.

also a c6 isnt the car you are going to have if you have "loads" of money if you have loads of money u will have a ford GT, c6 z06, viper, ferrari etc if you want to show off your "loads" of money.

what i don't get is why mitsubishi can't put the performance of the evo in the eclipse and then at least get a decent compromise- instead of opposite extremes on both ends... ?

That is a good question, I looked into the EVO before I got the 8. The inside was its down fall.

Then I heard the eclipse was coming out, I was excited. I would have thought the eclipse would have been a higher performer. Atlease offer something like the GSX

But no they put out that POS, the eclipse has been crap since 99

that's what i mean...

eclipse = looks are ok, but performance is ****.
evo = performance is great, but looks are ****.

i guess since god doesn't divi out looks & personality in one package. nor do car makers.

go figure.
