All things considered, I don't even know why anyone would make such a comparison when 135i has the same twin-turbo I6 from the 335i, generating over 300hp & 300lb-ft of torque. Somebody must be really bored; utterly pointless

Already has and for what you get it's really not that pricey especially considering you could spec an RX-8 over 30 grand over 3 years ago.

Starting at $34,900 MSRP
3.0-liter, turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine
300 horsepower
Rear-wheel drive
25 mpg hwy*

I was at the local BMW dealership today and got to see a 135, 08 M3, and 08 M5. I wasn't impressed with the look of the 135 but I did like the red leather interior. The salesman was trying to get me to drive it but I declined. The one I was looking at was fully loaded and priced around $43,000. If I could afford the 08 M3 the 8 would be sitting at dealership right now....damn that car is sweet.

The 135i on the dyno put down 279 whp and 295 lb-ft of torque. I believe it is rated at 300hp and 300 lb-ft of torque so it is underrated from the factory.

This comparison really is not a fair comparison. The rx8 is down at least 100whp and 160 lb-ft of torque. The BMW does weigh more but obviously not enough to make these cars comparable.
