You're right, 2004 was the only year since 1989 for a Turbo Cabriolet. Sales must have been low though because www.porsche.com does not list a Turbo at all for 2005. In that case, I would try to find a 2004 Turbo Cabrio, thanks BlueEyes

Yeah, I just read that comparo. I wouldn't expect the spartin Exige to win any comparos vs the Caymen considering it came with no carpet, non adjustable seats, no power steering etc, there's no way for it to make up the points loss on those luxury items.
And did Road Atlanta is one of those fast tracks with plenty of straights so again, I'm not surprised. But then again, considering that as tested price for the Exige was $55,000 and the Caymen was $70,000, my money's on the Exige. Or I can save more and go with an Elise.

In expert hands (certainly not mine), the rear-engined 911 can do stupid crazy cornering. But for most people it's probably not ideal. Personally, I don't have the ***** to drive an older 911 turbo.
They really need to do something about the LSD situation on the Cayman. Sooner or later Porsche are going to have to admit that they can make a better car now than one that was designed half a century ago. It's ironic, considering that they tried to replace the 911 in the '80s and ended up with a big truckload of fail.
