Very nice. This is the only way I'd buy a convertable. Now if it only had a little more room...

wonder if the car is any more rigid with it. That and do you still need a roll cage for autoX?

Closed design looks the same as the removable hardtop version.

I wonder how Mazda have adjusted or compensated for the extra 30 odd kilos of weight with the 50/50 weight distribution feature of the standard MX-5.

Considering the design team went to painstaking measures to reduce the weight of every component used in the NC MX-5.

How does this extra weight effect the MX-5's performance and handling.

dam that looks good. On some angles, it looks like a cross of the FD and the RX8.

Bleh...

The rear of the top looks to vertical. And now the car looks too long (with the top up). Can't cure the ghastly front.

In summary, I still don't like it .

It does look pretty slick.

Now just fix the front end and the overall bar of soap look and i'm in.

"WHEELS" July issue has just confirmed more details on the MX-5 Coupe....

The electric retractable roof weights only 30KG or about 65 pounds.

Its not made of metal but a carbon fibre-reinforced plastic composite.

There is NO loss of boot space as the folding top stores in exact cavity as the existing manual cloth roof.

Wheels quote "From open to close, and visa versa, the roof is said to take 20 seconds."

There will be no additional exterior badging here.

EXTRA insert by WHEELS.

NO Blow
There have been rumours on a turbo MX-5, but , project manager Takeo Kijima told Wheels recently it's just not on.
