A few chrome accents on the body and some brushed aluminum rims or something like the stock RX-8 rims would really look nice IMO. Keep the wing -- Evo's look weird without them.

Awesome car in general though. Try not to smoke every RX-8 you see. If we ever hear a "kill story" about an RX-8 beating a blue Evo we'll know it was you being generous.
White would have been my first choice, blue/black was my second choice. At night it does kinda look like I've got 4 steel wheels on it unless you get a closer look or I'm cruising at highway speed. I was going for a mean understated look, I feel like I accomplished that but others will certainly have a different view. Don't worry, I'm nice to RX-8s unless provoked

Ike, How will the Evo or an STi handle in the snow? Are all seasons enough or is it best to go with winter tires?

Black Racing (forgetting the model) and they weigh about 20lbs for 17x9, not as light as some but still pretty good and they're the perfect offset for the Evo without having to worry about rolling the fenders with 255 tires and a lowered car.

Very well as long as you don't use summer tires. I'm using ultra high performance all seasons any they're pretty good in the snow. Unless you get a lot of deep snow and streets aren't cleared very fast I wouldn't suggest anything else since you get a tires that performs well in all conditions. I may even do a trackday or two with these tires.

Hey man....nice ride. I know the Mitsu models but can't tell the IX from the MR. Which is yours? Excuse my ignorance. I drove an STi and the EVO IX....the turbos made them feel a bit drained to me. But man I'm ALWAYS a big supporter of anyone getting a new toy...I mean car....I don't think its fair for people to compare the Evo or STi with an RX-8 though. Totally different breeds....I know that you bought what you wanted...so continue to roll.

You're still a brother of 8 owners....you just got an extended family now.

Mine is an Evo VIII GSR which is between the RS (stripped down model) and the MR (which has bilsteins as the main difference). The main difference between the 8 and the 9 is the 9 has Mivec (variable valve timing) and puts down a little more power. The main reason I got the VIII is because I didn't want to be backwards on the car when the Evo X and new generation STI is released, I also like the loosk for the VIII better. So I thought I'd save a little money and wait and see what happens in a couple years.

Cool man...I was thinking what it would take to actually get me out of my 8...The only thing right now is the Cayman S....and that would take quite a bit of dealing. Like I'd have to be able to pay for 75% of it upfront or something insane.

Enjoy the miles man...

But it's not my car...and YMMV.
While I had my Evo some jackass(es) ripped the wing off. I'm going to tell you from experience the car does feel a little different when you get up in speed (I'm not going to say how far up). It may be a minor difference but it makes a difference. Look at the design of it (the carbon fiber part)! It is designed like airplane wing...kind of a tear drop shape that is curved to push air flow up which would have an effect of pushing the rear end down. It may seem like marketing but that car might be one of the most purpose built designs at that price range.

Congrats to the proud new owner. Your like a father with his first newborn. Blue is sexy on the rx8 but just alright on the EVO. Have fun with the new toy.
Blow the doors off those Mustangs and leave the 8's alone as we are a happy bunch and don't care about drag racing.

I like the car and I like most blues, but I'm not crazy about that one. (I would have jumped ship to the EVO if I had a WRX.) And I'm going to call you Shaky McGee with those blurry pictures of yours =P

I think it looks great, the rims are a nice touch. If it was black with those rims I think that would be a true stealth fighter...impressive ride Ike.
