At least test drive the Fiesta and see how it feels when it gets there. I know Ford has Revo Knuckle, so the torque steer should be reduced compared to standard MacPherson suspension, that is, if they put it on Fiesta.

Too bad you don't have Renault Megane RS there, that would be a no brainer when it comes to choosing a "grocery" shopping car

Neither ST has that, revo was on the last gen RS. Both ST cars use an electronic LSD vs a mechanical setup

You're right, I mixed it up with revo knuckle.

Anyway, here's a test. Not the Fiesta, but at least a professional opinion on the Focus ST and it's handling.

I'm fixing to replace the rx-8 with one of the following:

Fiesta ST
Focus ST
Fiat Turbo
Fiat Abarth

The rx8 is the best car I've ever had, and none of the above will change that. But 80% of the 95K miles I've put on the rx8 have been spent commuting, so I figure I will regret the replacement roughly 20% of the time.

The other thing I hope to accomplish is to eventually convince my wife to replace her despicable Civic hybrid with whatever I buy. Then I will be in the market for one of the following:

RX7
Mazda-Built Alfa
C7 Corvette

Bi-Turbo V8; the CL65 was a V12.

I'm fine with your ignorant opinions but lets at least get the facts straight.

I'd never drive a Fiesta, ever lol. Obviously personal reasons and opinion, but still. Not a safe car in my mind, which is a very major contributing factor to me.

Fiesta is a really safe car in it's class, Ford Fiesta | Euro NCAP - For safer cars crash test safety rating

Even if it's in small B segment class, it doesn't mean that it will be destroyed entirely by anything bigger that hit's her.

Here's what I mean

That's great and all. My brother got hit head on in one by some idiot two summers ago and died. So screw all those tests. To me they are not safe.

Fiesta. They're wildly different cars, so by asking that you're telegraphing that you don't yet understand the differences, so Fiesta is a safer bet.

The Fiesta is the smarter choice.

My son has a Fiesta ST. It is a very cool little car, and a much better choice than an RX-8 for a first car.
