I hope it won't be worse than Mazda in reliability department. But it will be as rarely sighted on the road as RX-8.

It is slower indeed (but just a little bit), but from some point in my life I started to weight style over specs (and not only in cars). I think it is hard to argue that Italians can give you best style for the money.

149 probably won't do it for me. I'd take Mazdaspeed 3 (and it is relatively cheap here), if I would want FWD car.

From a style point of view get the brera then! I love it even is there's some cheap stuff in there.
Yes, the 149 will be a bad car overall but, like the brera, will be pretty stylish for its segment.
I'd take a ms3 too
