If they were the same price, I'd take the STi, mostly because Subaru has a better reliability record. But dealers are still charging several thousand over MSRP for the STi, while the Evo is available for less than list price in many places. Under those conditions, I'd take the Evo.

Their both boxy looking, and they both got the boy racer look. If looks wasn't the case I get the faster one. So I choose the sti
"13.3 suby / 13.6 evo." .3 sec doesn't make alot of diff but it does in your rear view mirror.

where is the neither button? they both have things i don't like about them. the wing on the sti is just horrible to me. evo just doesn't do it for me all around. gimme a regular wrx and the difference in dollars to do some mods and i'd be happy.

I prefer the Sti for various reasons. I'm a Mechanical Engineer and I'm very techincal about things. I find the Suby's design to be superior and more unique, turbo opposed four engine with top mounted intercooler vs turbo inline four with front mount ic, three different lsd's the center one which is auto or manually controlled for torque split, etc. I also see the potential of tuning and with 19psi max boost I believe the EVO will be harder to tune. The ping issue is going to be solved with an ECU reflash so I'm not concerned about it.
By the way, I'm a rotorhead just because I'm totally AMAZED at the design and "uniqueness" of the wankel engine and it's incredible potential for power in such a small package :D
