What a flippin moron. I'm kinda surprised the marshalls hadn't pulled her off the track the way she was driving. A couple of those passes did not look to be in accordance with my understanding of track etiquette. That plus the way she never really seemed to have complete control of the car made her appear to me to be a danger out there. She looked like she was overestimating her abilities.

 

That's sarcasm right? There are no smileys so I can't tell. I've seen that clip before and it's some of the best driving I've ever seen.

Have to agree with you there...she was SMOKIN' around that track!! All the drifts, save for maybe one or two, were very well executed and controlled and she showed some real "*****" going down on the inside against the Elise (I believe that's what it was).

On a side note...I see videos like this and one form Best Motoring International and really get jealous. Not about the cars or anything, but how other countries really encourage the public use of tracks and road courses. Like Germany and the Nurburgring...I think around $15 gets you a lap there on one of the longest, most challenging and historic race courses ever. I have a buddy who went and hired what they call a M5 "Taxi"...basically, a pro-caliber driver who runs you around at full-gallop in a 2002 BMW M5!! For even a little bit more money, you could hot lap that thing all day...in whatever you drive! I hear Japan has days similar to this as well at many of their racing courses.

America needs venues like this. Not in so much that we can't go racing or head to the track if really wanted to, but in that we have to register for an event or be part of a school or group, etc. As far as I know, we don't have a road course that we can simply drive up to, sign some release, toss in a few bucks and go run.

Let me clarify my post with some context. I've never done a track day, but my understanding - at least for U.S. tracks - is that when running your streetcar on a track along with other drivers running their streetcars there is a certain etiquette not much unlike the "gentlemen's rules" of times past. Drifting your $30K Mitsu next to a $60K Porsche seems a little asinine to me. Participating in a drift event is one thing, but I'll bet those other drivers were not out there to have some jackass plow into them thinking he is Mikka Hakkinen. To me the lack of appropriateness was an indicator of immaturity, which makes for a dangerous driver. That was my frame of mind when I made my original post. Someone who totals their street car in a non-cash payout or non-championship-points-earning track event is someone who has poor personal risk management skills.

 

Hell yea thats what I am saying... Get or get the hell out of the way. Its a track, your not on the street. Yea did you see that Elise. Cool color. I have never seen a girl drive that bad *** be for. She knew what she was doing. Just looks like it was too wet out with stock wheel=... For the EVo.

 

Actually she was being farily considerate. I didn't see her actually drifting near any other cars. Drifters at local L.A. track days have no brains whatsoever in my experience.

What's retarded is how long it took the ambulance to arrive. They didn't have one at the track? Any track day I've been to had a couple of paramedics sitting trackside in their rig all day, looking pretty bored.
