WASHINGTON — Mazda is recalling 7,100 of its Mazda 3 cars because of improper operation of the electronic stability control system, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The affected vehicles have a problem with the yaw rate, which “exceeded the test standards,” said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem.
There was no additional documentation on whether the problem has resulted in any injuries or fatalities.
Mazda dealers will inspect and have the electronic stability control unit replaced for free. There is no owner notification schedule posted concerning this recall. Owners can contact Mazda at (800) 222-5500.
