The first thing you need to do (On RX8Club.com at least) is put your thread and questions in a place suitable to get helpful responses; GENERAL AUTOMOTIVE is for everything automotive unrelated to RX8.

Just so you know, your car has no cylinders and some people here will be very harsh or make fun of you if you ever repeat that statement.

Paul.

Cylinders?...Really?...lol...Wow...I don't even know what to say to that...Why don't you have them check your timing belt while you're at it...

Cougar5star 08-08-2011 01:50 PM

Ok the dealer customer service guy said cylinders wich I thought was odd. Not saying I'm an expert I just repeated what I was told was issue

Time to find a new dealer.

paimon.soror 08-08-2011 06:19 PM

pretty sure by "cylinders" he meant the faces of the rotors ... our cars have 2 rotors, 3 faces each, so 6 faces or "cylinders" (technically they do the job of a cylinder/piston)..

he was running a compression test and probably thought you knew absolutely zero about a rotary engine so maybe he was trying to dumb it down for you

how many miles are on the car, do you still have the warranty?

Is it a Mazda dealership? That's a bummer if it is...
