that explains everything my brother borrowed the car blew up the bell housing and im looking for the rear housing of the motor and bell housing anyone know where to buy it?

 

I hope I can help (This actually should not be posted in General Automotive which is for everything unrelated to RX-8s). What on earth did your brother do? How could he "blow up the bell housing and rear housing"? Is it turbocharged, running nitrous? Did he hold it at 10k rpm and leave it there?

Anything he could have done to damage those parts has probably damaged more parts than that.

lol nope no turbo the engine just got swapped by mazda in riverside it was a recall used for like a month and then it blew up idk the real story he said he was going in to second gear when it blew up at 4 rpms i dont buy it....do u...lol all i know is that the engine only has like 300 miles on it and if i take off that part idk if i have to rebuild it any suggestions new to rx8 forum

 

Engines don't just "blow up" especially non turbo engines. If the rear flat housing is broken, there's even a chance it happened during installation as Mazda warns about the potential of that due to not aligning the dowel on the housing to the bolt hole on the gearbox bell housing. Are you saying the engine stopped running one day or is it still functional? If you need a flat housing then you need MAJOR surgery (An engine rebuild).
