Love the vert! I've always wanted one of these. Did you swap the wheels already?

Rotr8 11-06-2009 09:42 PM

Only one pic is showing for me,,, lots of the little re "x"s

Flashwing 11-06-2009 09:42 PM

I don't have the car yet. :wallbash: lol. How can I swap the wheels? :p: I still have my RX8 wheels. But I'm not sure how red and Black would look on white. I don't think it would look good. Plus they're 265/35-18's. Would fit the back, just not to sure on the front.
So now I am going to be looking for a new set of something.

mike[piston eater] 11-06-2009 10:05 PM

clean easy, haha im gonna go look at a red 89 vert tommorow, hopefully i pic it up :D

Nice man.

8 Maniac 11-06-2009 10:27 PM

I drove my friend's hard top once... definitely a fun car. Enjoy.

dshiznit1489 11-06-2009 10:42 PM

Nice, looks like it's in great condition!

tiltmode43 11-06-2009 11:05 PM

The key downside to the vert is that they are h-e-a-v-y!

mike[piston eater] 11-06-2009 11:10 PM

but they are baller

9krpmrx8 11-06-2009 11:12 PM

Love it!

ASH8 11-06-2009 11:56 PM

I Likey!!..congrats..

I wish Mazda would make another Rotary Convertible (one in 40 years is not huge)..

I would buy an MX-5 Rotary, RX-5 in a Flash..

09Factor 11-07-2009 12:00 AM

Hmmm the vert looks familar. yeah, 265/35-18's would have a very hard time fitting up front.

congrats on the nice addition.

Thanks Dave. It should look familiar. You've seen it before.
Ya I don't think the 265's are gong to work. Ray will be getting my old wheel set up. I think they will look nice on his Black 8.

m477 11-07-2009 01:17 AM

hott. now swap in a renesis or 13b-rew (or a V-8...)

I fully understand the meaning of your "Location" line under your avatar now. :icon_no2:

Flashwing 11-07-2009 02:45 AM

Wow that looks to be a pretty clean ride! Can't wait to see it. Glad you were able to stay in the rotary family.

yep, fixed. Keep it clean or go extreme, I dont think Ive ever seen a RE Amemiya Widebody convertible before,,, and that would solve any doubts you may have about wheel fitment,,,

TheWulf 11-07-2009 09:01 AM

Wow, nice man! Congrats!

I can't wait to get another rotary... will most likely be an FD though :)

Mazurfer 11-07-2009 09:11 AM

Looks very clean! :icon_tup:
Needs smoked corners! :uhh:

Best of luck!

robrecht 11-07-2009 09:17 AM

Nice to see you're staying in the rotary family. How many manifolds to spare on this one?

Mazurfer 11-07-2009 09:19 AM

^.................ouch! :uhh:

It's going to be interesting. Nitrous is going to be first I think. I just happen to have a kit.

Brave soul.

Very clean vert, looks like it had some good TLC from a proper rotary owner. Grats

Cattywampus 11-08-2009 08:20 AM

Sweet ride Eric. Now Jeff has a new toy to play with. Can't wait to see it in person someday.

Easy_E1 11-08-2009 11:09 AM

Well after all is said and done. The deal fell through. It was an amicable disagreement on both parties parts. Oh well. Nuff said.
Let's just say it's back to the drawing board.
Sorry.

Jedi54 11-08-2009 11:23 AM

cool car, wrong color. ;)

dabax2324 11-08-2009 11:27 AM

what about a used 8 then they go for fairly cheap now

He already has an 8. I think this was just supposed to be a fun project car. While you could have fun making an 8 into a project car, it's probably more interesting to pick a different car than what you already have. Plus, there's a lot of stuff you can do to 7's for rather cheap compared to the 8.

shazy 11-08-2009 11:51 AM

/\ Yeah that's true.

Damn, that's too bad. Maybe something better will come along. Don't settle for less.

my bad :(

i thought he was getting rid of the 8 because of the bills

cfm251 11-08-2009 02:29 PM

Dont let up, they may seem scarce but they often sprout up in huge numbers. As you read this I have am being tempted by a 2 TurboII ($3500 $1700--not running), 2 gxl($2500, $500--crashed but running LOL), theres even an FD for sale for $6800 owner says its running "a bit rough". Dont give up hope because I might pick up one of these someday and I need BHR parts.

@!!narotordo 11-08-2009 02:44 PM

Is it a AT? lol I kiiiiid I kid. Looks good :smoker:. How much did you get that sucker for?

Yes the RX8 is gone.

sorry to hear that Ive been looking for a TurboII hardtop for a cheap project, Ive done 2 90-91 Talons (Eclipse) and want something different. I may get a 90-9x V8 stang for fun and S/C it. Whatever I get it has to be $3000 and forced induction for $1500 or less, which is why I want a TurboII, the plumbing is already there just need piggyback, injectors, test pipe/catback and bigger snail.

shaunv74 11-08-2009 06:28 PM

Sorry to hear about that Easy. All things happen for a reason. You'll find something better. FD anyone? ;)

Yep. Almost as heavy as the RX-8!!!

pdxhak 11-10-2009 11:33 AM

FC verts are more for cruising anyway so no biggie on weight.
