I thought that the CX-7 was the replacement for the Tribute.

Did they even spend any time and money to style the exterior??? damn it Ford. I wish Mazda can design their own without any influence from Ford.

Apart from the Hybrid Idea.....I can't see why Mazda are even bothering to keep this UGLY looking Ford in their line up....

We already have a face lift Tribute here (2006) with T bar on the floor instead of 1963 column change.

The CX-7 and CX-9....Great........Tribute/CX-5....what for...

Pretty lame, take the Mazda badge off it and everyone will think it's a Ford.

They didnt even bother to change the steering wheel to a Mazda one... basically just the 3 MAzda badges, found in front, back and the steering wheel, that is from mazda.

Makes me feel like my SUV is a little less "ugly."

At least the CX-7/CX-9 have made brand distinction in the SUV market.

The ugly duckling

I think Mazda should not name this CX-5. Mazda should start a new designation, like "SX" or something, so it doesn't get grouped with the sleeker CX-7 and 9. Or perhaps even call it Mazda7, since it's supposed to be a bread and butter car.

Very unimpressive. The styling is tremendously old school and not in a retro type of way, rather in a Ford kind of way. I was dreaming of how cool a CX5 could be if only it was penned in Irvine.

since its a parts bin special from ford its gotta coincide with other ford products. you cant have the body 99% diff from the ford counterpart or itd cost too much to build them. the tribute and escape look alike bc its cheaoper that way. imagine that sleek windshield angle of the cx7 on the cx5 and then try to redo it otherwise on the escape? get real! ford cant afford to redo a car bc mazda wants it to look nice. this cx5 will be what the tribute was. an affordable suv. nothing more nothing less.

they have no need to break records with it, its the bottom of 2 other suvs mazda sells. itll be the cheapest and for good reason.

i will die b4 i own an suv but there r 50% of americans who say otherwise. and they all dont want to pay 35k for a 3.5l v6 that makes like 2 hp more than mazdas L3 T
