Cost v Benefits of hydrogen engines?

I'm looking for a website or some other source for the cost vs benefits of hydrogen powered engines, specifically the hydrogen rotary being developed by mazda. Thanks in advance

For some negatives, here's a good article from Patrick Bedard of Car and Drive on hydrogen:

Basically, when you include the processes to manufacture and compress hydrogen, it will take about twice as much total energy as we use with gas engines.

Actually as much as I haven't found a convincing reason to power cars with hydrogen, I don't really agree with what Patrick Bedard states.
Patrick Bedard only considers gaining hydrogen from electricity, which is of course not the only option and wouldn't seriously be considered anyway (that's probably why he hasn't gotten a response from BMW yet). In fact most of the hydrogen gained today is not gained from electricity.
