Confirmed: Audi RS4 coming to the U.S. this June!

Wow... I never thought this car would ever tempt my wallet in the U.S., but apparently we'll start seeing them on the highways starting June! Gah... if only I had $70K in disposable income for throwing at my toys...

Can we sell kidneys in the For Sale / Wanted forum? I'm selling half my liver too - 100% hep-free!

-P23

P.S. For those of you who are not familiar with the RS4, see this video

$70K... ouch! A Z4 or cayman start looking real good at that price. Or a Vette or a GT500... or hell get two cars... daily driver and weekend car...

I think it's uglier than a dogs ***. I'd never pay $70k for that car. If I wanted to spend that I'd just get a M3, Cadillac XLR, or spend much less and buy a new Corvette. They think that just because they have Audi on it and having over 400 hp means they can charge **** loads of money for it. Cocky bastards.

Awesome car, I would buy one if I had the cash. I also like the German term for "tires"... rim protectors! So what are they trying to say, those wheels are expensive and they require an armed guard?

I'd buy one, but don't as mentioned, I don't think it's worth the money. That is Cayman S territory, and hell I'd rather have an M3.

rs4 all the way over cayman or m3 (at least until new one comes out) the only thing i would prefer over this is the m5 but thats another 20k .. i saw one at the auto show .. looked pretty a4 disguised to me .. though i wouldnt mind that

on another note .. i wouldnt mind some comparos between this and evo and sti .. just to get the value to price comparison .. if you think about that .. id be fine with an a6 plus evo, which is prolly the same price as the rs4

Evo magazine (British publication) did a comparo between the Carrera 4, RS4, and the Evo IX. The Evo was quickest around the track, and won the comparo overall. It was a british FQ-340 which is about the same as putting an exhaust and tune on a USDM Evo. If performance is what you're after it really doesn't get much better than the Evo when it comes to bang for the buck.

1.8 mile track times:
Audi- 1:28.60
Porsche- 1:25.75
Mitsu- 1:24.55

STi/EVO are the fastest cars anyone can afford. The Rs4 isn't a rallybred car but it's just as fast and a helluva lot classier than those boy racers. 70k is a bit high.

Looks rather pedestrian. If I'm paying $70k for a car, it needs to look like a $70k car, not a $30-40k one. Probably the only Audi I'd ever buy would be the old bi-turbo S4s. I really like them for some reason.

But you still look like a boy racer when you get out of the car. The RS4 will hang on the track with some of the best, and then you will be able to drive it to a business function and look like an executive.

When I was into Audi's I used to think the RS4 was awesome. Now I think it is nothing special. A properly tricked out B5 S4 or a 20v transplant is much better looking and can put out pretty impressive power.

hah, you work for those clowns? they told me the same thing about a M Coupe couple of years back. (yeah the shoe, and this was with my bro in there getting service on his M3). So ended up buying something else.. I don't care if it's a Ferrari, I'm not paying any money for something I can't test drive.
