Scary, and that's the small one.
GM is next, with maybe 2600 dealership closings, media says that list could be out this week or next.

Nice.... money could've been spent on the Katrina victims. Nice. US has once again shove the middle finger on human compassion instead embrace the corporate compassion. Win!

the money could have been spent giving those 38,000 people welfare for a year.

By bailing out specific companies, the government is effectively vetoing our "vote" as consumers in the marketplace when we decided to not buy american cars. Good to know they care about us.

Maybe if American automakers could figure out how to present their product in a way that doesn't exude a cheap, redneck feel to it, then their sales would increase. Out of all the automakers on the planet, Americans are probably the worst in terms of overall styling and product presentation. They look cheap, and thats the bottom line when you are looking at buying a new car. It doesn't matter that the mechanics are solid if the styling is a complete turnoff. Of course one will turn to toyota or honda or whatever with their far superior product look/feel.
