Chose RX8 over 350z

I got my RX8 about three weeks ago...but first i was deciding between the 8 and a 350.. Went to nissan dealer to test drive one and sales people were so rude they didn't even want me to test drive one. I am only 21 so i guess i looked poor to them considering i had on a t-shirt and shorts. They kept telling me my payments were gonna be huge even though i didn't tell them how much of down payment i had or anything. They finally let me test drive one with no gas in it so test drive was like 2 min, and i got up to a top speed of 25 mph. Great!!!

Then went to Mazda dealer and they were awesome and I fell in love with the 8. Also like the fact of 4 seats and it being diff. Everyone in FL has a 350. When i tell people this they said nissan did me favor. I am so tempted to drive my car up to the nissan dealer.

hell yeah nissan dealers suck *****!!!! i have went up there a few times when they first came out and just cause i was young 18 they said that i would have to have my parents come in then they'd let me drive it with my parents... im like ohh im sorry you feel that way holla!!....oh and i went up to the saturn place to take a look at the new redline.. and i got the key and asked about a test drive and the salesman was like we dont let ppl drive it its the first one we have and its got to much power.. i was like ?? and pointed to the rx8 and said see that car it is alot faster than this and costs alot more... needless to say he folded and i drove and that thing does have some pick up and sounds awesome.. ohh and tried to drive a srt-4 the salesman acted like he had to have special training and a special license to even drive it cause it was so "powerful" again i said "holla"

I chose an 8 over the Zed as well...... all because of my missus!
Seriously, I am very happy as I'm sure you will be with your choice since I haven't met a Zed owner yet, who is passionate about their car.

truthufuilly in my townt he nissan dealers are pretty nice but the mazda dealers are some of the snobbiest ppl ive ever met, im trying to buy an 8 at the moment but i dont go up their for help anymore because their is not one of them that has been nice to me everytime i ask a question such as can i get the mazda speed kit through you guys or can you tryt o locate me a preowned rx8 at another dealership they always roll their eyes and give me a remark that will make me wish i never came in the first place. The VW dealers are really nice though just because of how nice they were made me want to get an r32 but i just love the 8 too much, after i went their thye let me test drive one without any questions he let me gun it like crazy hitting 105 and everything, then i wrote a review for the car and he called me and thanked me for it later and asked volunteered to send me some things in the mail on testing and magazines and stuff mainly about the r32 for free.

find out who is the internet guy and deal only with him. eventually all these other knuckle heads will get it when they have no customers walking onto the lot except to see that guy.

Congrats on ur purchase.
Why not try go to another dealer to try out the Z better? Not saying that you should get a Z instead, but not able to try out the car fully for comparison doesnt seem fair to the Z.

For my first test drive, the salesman gave me the keys and said "Have Fun"! I was gone for 30 minutes :D

nearly every dealership has an "internet sales department" now. usually the deptartment consists of one salesperson. you find out who that is , usually by emailing a requet for info from the dealers website, and do the whole deal by email with them. set up an appointment for a test drive with them. they also usually have rock botom no haggle prices that the regular scmoe saleman arent aware of. you can really do 90% of the deal over email and just go in once for the test drive and a second time to pick up the car. play two internet sales people from different dealers against each other - get a price from one and see if the other will meeet it and throw in some free oil changes or something or beat it.

As many have stated, I would recommend the internet sales division for negotiation, after you have test driven the vehicle.

As for the Z, find somewhere you can test drive it. Not all salespeople are d!cks. Deciding what you are going to spend you hard earned money on should not be influenced by a bad experience with one that treated you poorly. Old Adage Time : Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.

Nissan have bad build quality. I am considering the z as well as the rx8 and think i have decided to get the rx8 because it looks better. I have some big plans for my car when i get it.

I had a bad experience with my Nissan truck, and crappy customer service. I swore I would never buy another Nissan. I havent, and I will not.
The RX8 is a nicer looking car anyway in my opinion. Even if my experience had been good I still would have bought my RX8 and not the 350z
