Chevy's 'Make Your Own Tahoe Commercial' idea not exactly going as planned
From Autoblog
click thru to the story for links to the specific spots they ar etalking about
NOTE- The vids may not be work safe as autoblog reprts some "objectional language"
oh drat- Chevy has taken the whole section of their site down.
The website allows readers to select backgrounds, video shots, and input text in an attempt to win prizes ranging from a Jackson Hole Getaway to a trip to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
Rather predictably, however, certain surfers have been using the spot-building website for purposes that don’t exactly put Chevrolet’s newest in the best light. Unfortunately, GM's webmeisters appear to be asleep at the wheel, as we can't imagine these derogatory ads staying up on purpose.

well i was trying to get the thread posted before watching the vids myself in case they were comign down. apparently i just got up too late this morning.
Mazda and otehr automakers have done this during launches of other vehicles. For instance for a while you could "make your own RX-8 commercial" you could drag and drop segments into the order you wanted, pick th epiece of music, type somewords in that appeared in the video or at the end etc. but they werent posted for all to see. you could jus tkeep it or you could "send to a freind" . this idea of hosting them for anyone to see is where they went wrong.
