No its not 50mpg... read the article & read up on how the car works.... its 50 if it is being powered by the gas engine; the car is a hybrid of sorts & is a little more difficult to judge mpg-wise because of how it functions

It might. It might not. It depends on how you drive it and if you can ever plug in.

Dillsrotary wants me to back up my "rumor" about the 1000 Chevy Camaros having been recalled due to bad battery electrical cables. Well actually I misspoke, it was actually 1243 2010 Camaro SSs with the problem...Recall ID#09V155000, recall date May,6,2009. This recall is not a "rumor" and I don't cut Mazda any slack when they screw-up also. My point remains that the Volt is a PR Spark...

I would also love to have a new Camaro SS and I believe the future of GM resides in their ability to make good V-8s not hi-tech(pie-in-sky) electric autos. I will not test drive the new SS as I might find that I like it...and besides, my 8 would get jealous!

I stand corrected about the recall.

I still do not agree that the volt is not well engineered though, in stating that due to the mistake made of the camaro's battery cable relates to the company (well the engineering department, not the company) chances when designing a truely original electric vehicle.

People will always remember "bad things" before "good things", we should know as rotary owners. I'd bet on GM making sure they get it right the first time, with the spotlight on them they cannot chance a large mechanical mishape.
