Charger

Saw the Charger close up today and in person this car imo is beautiful. Mean, aggressive looking stance with the ***** to back it up. Closed due to the holiday but i have to go drive that beast. Anyone drove one yet? The 06 looks to be a monster.

Not bad. I think the body resembles the new Mustangs a bit.

Why are all the Hemi cars HUGE family sedans? The 300, Charger, and Magnum are competing against eachother for what seems like the same audience. The Charger should have been a coupe.

Don't worry, they are bringing the Challenger back as a family minivan.

LOL
As far as the no manual tranny comment--remember muscle cars on the drag strip are more desireable with auto trannies. The Charger is cool--but the SRT8 version is the one that looks really good.

Not the last time I checked. When I saw the profile of the Charger, I immediately saw similarities to the Mustang. Maybe you haven't seen the same photos as I have. Obviously, there are many ways that they look different, but that is why I said it resembles the Mustang "a bit".

In this months Motor Trend there are a few shots of the upcoming Bullit (spelling?) Mustang and the Charger side by side. I thik the profile is similar at certain angles

I thought the same thing in regards to the lines resembling the Mustang , especially the back. I read somewhere when looking into the car more that the reason it wasn't a coupe is the coupe demand is supposedely way down and they felt the 4 door would sell better.

I dont see a similarity at all between the stang and the charger... aside from the fact that both look like "muscle cars"

The axle ratio on the V6 model, and the overall gearing is worse now with the mercedes transmission(5 speed automatic), versus chrysler's own 4 speed automatic.
2.87 on V6
Pathetically slow, 0-60 8-9 seconds.

I agree, I can't quite put my finger on it but I feel the same.

I think maybe the Charger's rear quarter "hip" resembles some of the late 60's

Boss Mustangs and it just kind of carries over. I think the new Mustang should

have had at least a little hip on the quarter panel.

I would have bought the hell out of that...

In spite of it being a Dodge.

It still holds some of the classic Charger lines.

What do you mean they aren't similar? Can't you see the four wheels and a windshield? :p
