Isn't the new Cobra supposed to be about $250,000 less than the Carrera GT? Looks like a relative bargain at $95,000 (per Motor Trend).

Sorry, the Carrera GT is actually $345,000 more than the new Cobra. The Cobra is probably trying to compete more with the next Z06 or Viper than a supercar.

I agree with pimp on this one. If he thinks the car sucks, so be it. I'm not a big fan of it either for that matter.

I am sure the Carrara GT would take the Shelby but I want to know can it take the Enzo? and why have there been no comparison?

I'm just annoyed that Ford isn't innovating.

First, we have the retro Thunderbird.
Next, the retro Mustang. (Although to be fair, I do like the way it looks.) Now, they're bringing back the 500 nameplate and the Monterey. And now the Shelby Cobra....

Coming soon! The 2006 retro Ford Falcon! The 2007 retro Ford Galaxie! The 2008 retro Ford Edsel! The 2009 retro Ford Pinto, complete with new exploding gas tank!

Not innovating... Even though it is retro, I'd take a Ford GT in a heartbeat if I had the dough. That car is most supercars worst nightmare.

I have always loved the Cobra and today would still take it. Dream of building a Factory 5 Racing Cobra. Gotta love those lines.

Factory 5 Daytonas are the way to go :D Both them and the Cobra are impressive kit cars for sure.

Who cares?

If you're shopping a Carerra GT it's not about lap time. It's all about Porsche.

The Ford GT is a modern interpretation of a classic, legendary race car.

And it's performance is also race-car like.

No, not some tarted-up Civic/BMW/Integra etc that does touring car events.

A real race car.

It's awesome, and like Ike said, I'd take one in a heatbeat.

Even if they do a modern Cobra, it will be just that... modern, and will have the performance to match.

Hey, at least Ford is taking chances and producing this stuff.
