It really is. I seen some used ferrari's for under 60k w/ 22k miles which could be within my price range in a few years but.... the maintenance on a car with such low mileage is crazy!

It's still my dream car!!!!

I talked to someone who took there ferrari in for its 10K mile service and the bill was $30K. WTF. I dont know what model it was but $30k for service. Keep it mind this was in the SF bay area Marin County, but still.

screw that! for 225 grand I would expect better quality. IMO those cars are not worth it, with the exception of the F430, I would be a liar if I said I wouldnt give my left nut for that car.

All of you are nuts if you wouldn't own a ferrari if you had the chance in this lifetime. If you can afford a +200k car, especially one as rare as a ferrari, you don't balk at the bills that come with it.

mmm, i'd agree with this statement to an extent, ppl that can flaunt that kinda coin will not care about these kinda bills...celebs and tycoons have these as toys and status symbols, just different perspectives...fun to dream though

I have to disagree. If I was gonna buy myself a high-end vehicle I would expect that I would spend more time driving it than waiting on it in the shop. I mean on the premise that if you can afford to buy it, you can't complain about the high maintenance cost is shoddy. I mean comeon...$125 for a LICENSE PLATE FRAME?!? Lets be honest, you're not paying for quality here. You buy a Ferrari you're paying for the name...for bragging rights. But I'm sorry getting a $7000 after 15,000 miles? What is this the 60s? There is no excuse for that. You pay that much money, that engine should be bullet proof even under heavy use, just like the rest of the vehicle.

I do not care for Ferraris or Lambos and other such cars that are more status symbol than performance vehicle. Looks get you in the front door, but substance keeps you in.

Well, if I had that kinda money, I would look into other vehicles other than a Ferrari, if it was GIVEN to me, hellz yea Ill take it.

Im the type where if I was ballin like that, I would much rather own a collection of 5-6 30-40K cars than 1 Ferrari that requires 30,000 grand + a year in maintenance. Thats me though, some people are different. Plus for the money, I would more than likely go with a Z06 or ZR-1, better performance and reliability, cheaper to maintain, and sexy as all hell.

Ferraris are gorgeous to look at though

Ive always sat around and dreamed about having a garage full of all my dream cars and just cools cars. A few musts would have to be a turboed, yet stock looking 8, RX8 R3, an FD, A Supra, Corvette C4 ZR1, 02-04 Corvette Z06, and of course a new M3 for the DD

**Going into recline mode in the office chair slowly putting my hands behind my head dreamin**

+1 , was thinking that but couldnt have said it better myself. Any vehicle that requires that kinda service that frequently is shitty. An oil change is and oil change and a brake flush is a brake flush. You sure as hell should not have to pay so much for service just because you can afford more.

You know, you could buy a BMW M5, have the exact same experience of failure after failure after failure, and have it all covered under warranty.

Or a 3 rotor in your Ferrari?

That sounds silly, yet awesome at the same time.

Now see the brands like BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and the like are not incredibly overrated. Some are just particularly expensive because of import taxes.

The CTO at our office owns an M5. It's in the shop for at least 2 weeks out of every month. dead serious. The computers in it are constantly failing apparently. but hey, its all covered under warranty.

That's crazy Well I don't have to worry about that as my next car choice will be the 8, and after that a truck with enough power to tow it
