oi vey. they should make all these crashes part of their ads for how safe the car is.

..that is, if the car was advertised.

That looks like a great car for $5500. I'm sure you have lots of money left to burn to put into it.
Back to pistons though huh. . .

I bet you could still pull that RB Ram air Duct off and sell it on here...
Looks to be in good shape!

For real, glad you're okay. I'm sure it wasn't a fun day for you.

I feel your pain man. My wife and I were T-boned by a drunk driver in a Dodge Durango! We walked away with a few bruises but we lived! Nice Z...just curious how much did insurance pay out for your 8?

Insurance gave me $18400. Top dollar. It was a 05' GT TiGray 6MT with just over 40k miles and a decent amount of mods.
I bought the 240 for $5500. So needless to say I have plenty to throw at the car, plus Im buying a beater for a DD.
The Datsun will be plenty of car for me for many years to come. I have always wanted one, and I couldn't pass this one up.

No bad. So are you going to part the car out or get a nother 8? I take it you got the Z just so you can have a DD right?

Sorry to hear about your car. These RX-8 seem to hold up really well to bad collisions thank God.

But, onto better times! The Datsun will have some safety updated made to it, inluding a custom 4point roll cage, new bucket seats and racing harnesses, new brakes and most importantly, a much more timid driver behind the wheel.

Wanna hear ironic though? I was out filming a few cruise around pulls today and a lady in a mini van almost took me out about 2 blocks from my girlfriends house. Gotta love miami.

Ill post a few more pics, gimme a sec.

oh, that'll buff out.....

glad you and your passenger were ok. thats the most important thing. are you considering buying another RX-8, given your wrecked one was so faithful..and safe to boot?

I am sure that at some point in the not o distant future Ill pick up another 8... but for now the Z will do it for me. Once that car is finished, Ill probably get another 8 in the garage, and it wont have a Renesis in it this time

Oh well thats what I get for welding at night... Im gunna clean them up and paint the piping, all of that will happen while the head is off at the machine shop.
Trust me, I would do everything else all pretty and leave nasty big welds like that.

sorry to hear about that. glad you and your girl are okay. love the Z, despite it having pistons. I actually almost bought one of those. it was in really awesome shape, had the old 2.4 in it, but it was bored out a bit and had a stand alone with some sort of modern fuel injection on it. it was really cool, but for some reason i just let it slip past. I guess having an old rx7 in my garage that needs alot of work was what made me pass. haha. i'll always want one of those Zs though. IMO, the two most beautiful cars to ever come out of japan, FD rx7 and the datsun 240Z.

Sorry your 8 got trashed, but it looks like you're OK, and you got a worthy replacement on top of it.

I love the first gen Z cars. I wish Nissan had gone with a retro design for the new Z's.

Damn, just saw this.. Poor 8. Looked nice in person. Crazy wreck, it's amazing you guys weren't hurt.

No wonder I didn't see or hear your car driving around my area for some time.. Strange enough I clicked your username to see whats up and I find this.

Nice trade off from the 8 though.
