Just look at the rear corners. I like the little slope down from center to the top of the tail lights. I can see where that could have a effect on the aerodynamics, but the effect on the visual is greater.

Is it just me or does this car look a little longer than the previous one?

yes it looks longer. but there has been a bmw z8 out for a while along side the z4. They are much rarer and you dont see them very often. They run about 150k i believe. If this is a z9 it is probably the successor to the z8, like the z4 replaced the z3. Here is a link to pics of the current z8 which i love a lot better than this z9 appears to look.

Was thinking the exact same thing..
that's the new Z4. You can tell by the rear bumper alone. I like this better than the current Z4, which I hate. We'll see what it looks like when all the plastic is removed though. If it is longer, that probably means they're stuffing a different engine under the hood. One can only hope for the twin turbo v6 out of the 335i to be stuffed in here just like in the 135i. The current Z4 has the 3.0 liter, but obviously no twins..

Ah, that would be golden - looks like we're seeing an uprising of FI roadsters (MSmx5, solstice/sky GXP/redline, s2k successor??, etc) We can see the dual exhaust but is that a front mount intercooler I spy? Looks suspiciously similar to the 335i intercooler (back/left one) May just be a radiator though haha, one can wish...
