BMW 8-Series 840ci
Have any of you guys had experience with an 8-series? Im looking at an 840ci 1995 with 55k original miles. Black on Tan. What do you guys think about these cars?

I have never driven one, but it's one of my all time favorites. I remember I saw it for the 1st time in Prince's MTV - Sexy MF, that thing was yellow.
Is it manual or auto? Where I live, there are quite a few nice auto for sale, but no 6 speed...

I don't think there was many made in manual; only the CSI, and a few 840/850 from the early 90s.
I like the 8-series, only thing I'd consider is that there was an overhaul in '96 which added a few nice items such as slightly more powerful engines, and steptronic (+/- shifting on auto).

Do not buy that car unless you are a BMW mechanic or you have one on retainer. It is an notoriously picky car that will need a lot of time in the shop and will have VERY expensive parts.
It would be worth it if you could do everything yourself but otherwise RUN AWAY FROM IT. Go find an older 3 or 5 series if you want a bimmer that will be fun and work well.

ditto- we looked into buying one about 7 years ago, and as gorgeous as that car was, all I could find said unless you were ready to have it spend more days in the shop than a Jaguar, don't bother. But wow are they pretty.
