Best driving school?

My father and I have been talking for years about attending a driving school together. Looks like we're finally going to do it this summer.

Problem is, there are a ton of them out there. Anyone here attended one they'd strongly recommend? I'm especially interested in hearing from people who've attended two or more.

Top priority is on-road driving skills. Will consider both programs where you use your own car and where they supply the car.

I'm in Detroit, he's in Virginia. Somewhere between us would be ideal. Ohio maybe?

I haven't attended myself but have heard some good comments on the programs at Mid-Ohio sports car course.

If you're willing to go to West Virginia, you could check out BSR, Inc. Their playground is at Summit Point Raceway, 70 miles west of Washington D.C. They offer a multitude of driving courses, from highway safety, to racing, to police pursuit. The Army used to send us there for different schools, but they (Army) have since built their own track and we have our own instructors now.
