im suprised and impressed, before I started reading, I was certain last years champ will end up at the bottom of the barrow this year.... especially considering how much C&D loves the 3 series

The Infiniti is a very nice car, I looked very close at it when we bought our FX35. I was impressed with the options for the money. I am glad to see something finally got car and driver to knock BMW of the pedestal they carry it on.

imo, bmw has always been a 3 series company, i dont think the 5 and 7 were ever revered the same way. the 3 series have and still is dominating the segment. Benz is the one thats always dominated the tru luxury segments but recently falling short to the japanese

Its really the Japanese have been catching up at an incredible pace! IMO, it'll still be many years until the Jap brands catch up to the European brands in the luxury segments, the Euro brands are still higher up. People buy these cars mainly for the name anyways.

I didn't like the win. I dont think it's the magazine's call to say that since one car is more expensive they like it less. A car is a car and it should be judged against the others without price being the determining factor. It's up to the consumer to make the value judgement of what they want to pay for how much car. Even if the BMW is only mariginally better, as they seem to indicate, it is still better and should have been #1.
