I have been reading some other forums lately and apparently the new Z06 is supposed ot be amazing. I don't know how they know this, but it's fun to talk about none the less.
So,

The viper sucks. It's probably the WORST supercar you can buy. Yes, it's fast with a big engine that makes a great sound, but I've always felt the styling was blah and the handling was over torquey with the slightest amount of over-acceleration making the incredibly touchy back end kick out. Then again, I'm not a race driver. The new Z06 (if it's anything like the last Z06) should be a much more balanced vehicle and you've gotta love the minimalist styling of the vette.

Personally, I'd take the Z06. Great performance and a relatively sane price, and also decent gas mileage and fairly composed road manners if I felt like using it as a daily driver. It's a much more easy going car than the Viper is without sacrificing much (if anything) in the way of performance.
personally I think they are both ugly...the new viper is hideous and the corvette is as uncreative as ever
this is the same reason I like Asian and Latin women...white/american woman are boring...don't seem to have the right curves or look, and blend in to easily and have a cheap trashy look to them ;p

C6 Z06 or new Viper.... C6 Z06. Now if it was a question of Z06 vs. the older Viper GTS....Viper GTS. I love the looks of the previous Viper, the new one does nothing for me. The new Z06, if that picture is correct, is fairly boring and will blend in with all the other C6's. I'm really disapointed that (Lutz? i think) didn't really make the Z06 stand out.
Well that's just a photo chop, so the word is that it will have some different styling cues.
Nonetheless, I'd take the Viper. I see too many 'vettes to really get excited about them. And the Viper is just meannnnn.

Viper, no contest. You are not going to win any extra style points for either of them, might as well get the less common one.
If a viper is for rich red-necks then what does that make the throngs of Nascar loving Vette owners? IMO, they appeal to the exact same demographic.
Now a classic vette that might be something to look into, pre 80's.

what the heck does it matter where a car is made? honestly? i guess you're saying you'd rather drive a scion xB than a vette or a viper? yeah, that sounds like a great decision...
Anyways, to stay on topic, I think the only version of the vette I like is the old C1's... True style back then. Haven't liked the proportions ever since. So i'll take the Viper, simply by process of elimination.
