Anyone ever de-register/un-register a car?
I've got a car that is probably worth more in parts than it would be selling it as a whole, so I'm thinking about parting it out. Of course I don't feel like paying insurance on it while I do that but VA requires insurance to be on all registered cars or they suspend your license (lame!).
So I called but there's a ridiculous wait time for an operator and given the time zone difference they'll be closed by the time the wait is up.
Anyone know if you're allowed to de-register a car and what the process is? I'm assuming you'd just send them the plates.
