Wow, I wish I had the dough to cough up an Exige... I'm waiting for another couple more years so that I can find a cheap used Elise to buy.

Anthony, I hope you know a new Lotus Exige will run you somewhere about $70,000.

i dont have the money yet lol but i am confident that in about 3 years or maybe 2 i would liketo have saved up a nice deposit to pay for it and have about the same car payment i have now, as well as trading in the RX8.

I always wanted an elise, but then after seeing about the Exige S....and seeing the pics i had to get that next....

Nooo, can't trade your 8! Especially for a Lotus! J/K I just think they are overpriced for being a 1.8L or whatever they are.. But, I think a wide body Lotus looks a lot better and more aggressive!

yeah, i've been looking really hard at them in the last 3 months or so. i never really considered the Elise/Exige because i've always been a diehard Espirit guy, but then i got the chance to take a closer look at them. i even saw one run at a track ... all i can say is ... WOW!

i'd buy one in a heartbeat. doesn't have to be an Exige though, i'd be good with an Elise.

anthony, exiges are awesome! my friends dad has one as his play car (their loaded). The main difference between the 2 cars is that the exige has a more daily driver type interior, side vent cover, large wing, and upgraded wheels (i think i heard somewhere that the exige S may have a turbo also??? not sure tho)

they are amazing cars, and if you can get one that would be AWESOME i would love to have 1 when i get older. truly amazing cars.

uhh...the primary difference between the elise and the exige is that the exige produces significantly more downforce at speed to help handling. The exige "S" has a supercharger on it for a small bump in hp...

the pics posted earlier...

is NOT a production exige...it was special built for a wealthy customer in asia to participate in a race series...it did not have the standard powerplant...or just about anything else in it...it LOOKS like an exige...but for all intents and purposes it should not be considered one as its a purpose built race car...

the new GT-R is most likely what he was referring to. As much as I love the looks and performance of lotus... I'd have to choose the GT-R as well.

I think, you'll change your mind about the lotus over the years, especially with all the new hot cars coming out.

definitely agree. i've been looking at used elises online recently too. a friend and i were having a car discussion; he wanted a performance car with all the anemities. I told him i wanted a pure sportscar with no electronic nannies.

that they are. it really comes down to taste I guess. I really do love the lotus cars, especially the styling of the exige. But something about the GT-R grabs me.

Dont get me wrong the gtr looks really nice. But for me its all about the drive not just the straight line. Everyone who i have spoke to who has drove the exige says its the most fun they've had driving a car

Never get a Lotus with a roof, loss of dignity during egress & ingress is imminent.

So, wait, I can buy a car renowned for its light weight and tack a half-ton of plastic crap to it? Brilliant!

I just can't see someone having one as an only car. You might as well get a motorcyle. I test drove one and I think I would be depressed unless I could get it to the track every weekend.
