How about a Russian rotary ?

According to the text, Lada was working on rotaries since 1961, and the second pic shows a 3-rotor airplane-engine that's turboed...


This page has probably the most info, with pics too. Interesting... Lada was not really known about being an overly interesting car manufacturer, but these things really look quite fascinating.

My very first own car was a Lada VAZ-21011 (looked just like that VAZ-21018 in the first picture), but certainly not with a Wankel engine, just a plain-jane 4-banger... man, was that car a POS :D
Never thought they actually put a rotary engine into that chassis...

 

Me too, how about the four rotor Mercedes motor from the famous C111 with the gull wing doors?
