another spec. edition mustang GT for 07.
http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/mus...29369|36168145
"It’s all the things you want in your Mustang GT plus a little extra inside and out to make it “special.” It’s called the California Special and it will be available this summer.
To get the California flair you start with a GT Premium package. The California Special then adds unique California Special Dove or Parchment ""GT Leather"" trimmed inserts and Black with Dove or Black with Parchment interior color scheme. The front and rear floormats include the special Mustang badging.
Exterior accents include side scoops and unique front and rear fascias. The front fascia has a larger air intake and is actually 1.5-inches lower than the standard GT. The rear fascia is also cut differently with less tuck-in.
The polished aluminum wheels are 18-inches with a bright machined rim and are wrapped with Z-branded all-season tires.
Bright rolled exhaust tips and unique tape striping add the finishing touches."
personal opinion: looks good in white, plus i dig the lower front bumper. not to keen on the "middle height" side sticker though.

Yup, I actually ordered one instead of an 8. Nearly bought an 8 but anyone over 5'10 will feel cramped headroom wise. I loved the 8 otherwise but hey, can't argue with seein some 8s in my rearview mirror . The 8 seduces you with is rpms but the stang seduces you when you get up close and personal with it.

Its a nice car, was going to get it, but decided not to because i like the eight better. Im 5 ll, I dont feel cramped in my 8. The mustang is nice and has *****, but over looking the hood when your driving. Cant see ****. The 8 im nose diving in water when im driving it. Cuz the hood is so low, and you can actually see the street if you know what i mean. The 07 stang is like driving a boat.

Yeah, a boat that can give you 20 horsepower with an intake and exhaust upgrade . Yeah I didn't get the hood scoop because of that. The Mustang is an icon cruiser and the 8 is a driving machine. Very different. Just came down to possible sub 5 sec 0-60s, which no matter which way you paint it matters to most enthusiasts or they wouldn't stress it in every car magazine, and the space inside. Plus it takes regular gas, the Cali edition will be a classic, and its sexy as hell. I can manage a little weight .

How many special editions does this make? Soon there won't be any regular ones anymore. Everyone will have their own variety like the "Shelby Mustang GTH Pony Express Delaware Special Bullitt GTQ paying tribute to a car Carroll Shelby might have imagined while drunk."

Ok so would you have special editions to make yours more unique....or the same car model for four years straight that give you a few new colors? It's all personal preference, I do prefer the way the 8 drives over the stang. Anyways, do some research. The California edition was an actual edition back in 1968 so its a bit more sophisticated and meaningful (as much as you can be in a stang) then the other upgrades. Gt-H, Gt 500 and CS were the only models I was interested in.

Now if you are talking about the Shelby GT or GT500... that's a different story. You are actually getting some more performance for your money.

Like its already been said - how many special editions does this make? When EVERYONE has a special edition - its NOT ******* special.
Mustangs are everywhere - unless it's a highly modified or GT-500 or something actually worthy i dont care. I really dont care for them (the common every day ones) even the new ones.... meh!

commonality is best. You blend in with the other cars making it harder to pick your car out of the crowd. Important when trying to avoid the notice of LEO.

i agree with you Japan8.
To each their own - if people want to blend in here where I live in Texas - just either drive a regular *** truck or a honda civic. I dont want to blend in... i dont try to avoid the notice of cops because i usually am not doing anything that makes me nervous in their presence.
I just find it funny that people who drive special edition mustangs.... actually think they are special?

We definitely agree there... those special edition Mustangs are as special as Mazdaspeed cars. All 5000 available in the US each year... and then there is the rest of the world as well...

Its pretty pathetic that all the 8 owners have to get so defensive in the general automotive section. One person who says they are getting a stang and boom the ******** come out, its too common here.
Oh, and Camaros are the biggest pieces of **** on the planet, so you're basically laughing at yourself there chum.

I've owned mustangs in the past. It's popular because it's cheap. It doesn't have the econobox stigma because there are models with bigger engines, but most sold are v6.

IMO, two different cars for two completely different demographics of buyers. But don't make it out like you did nothing to deserve some of the basically very minor lashing that you received.

mustang is the american civic...nice car but kinda bleh for my taste
they can throw down some nice numbers though, but everyone has their own taste.
kinda like how my friend thinks i made a mistake buyin a slow 8, but always wants to drive it

Yeah but the lashing was laughable and you all know that mustangs will whoop your asses. I was saying in the rearview playfully, but then get you get retarded replies like "why do people think they are cool driving a mustang"....Every car is about image, whether anyone admits it or not. People buy 8s because they are unique and want to be a bit different. I agree the mustang's biggest plus is the power and how fast it is. However, a man wrote a book on the classic california edition 1968 mustang so no reason to believe it couldn't be a classic.
Well I went off, but I read here a lot and a ton of people seem so negative and defensive on here. I've back the 8 up all the time.

As anyone who is not a noob here knows, I am a Mustang fan. I love the V8 and especially with aftermarket parts the handling can be pretty good. Looks... beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I like 'em.
I also like the RX-8. I love the exterior styling and nice cockpit interior. The engine is unique and has it good points... handling/chassis is great.
The GT500 will likely be a classic and possibly the Shelby GT too. As for the CS model? Who knows... The RX-8... who knows... the FD is a classic... in 10-20 years time the RX-8 might be too.
They are two different cars that will appeal to different people. No need to bash.
