For all you american muscle haters...

i was at a local car meet last week, usually about 50+ cars. so im hanging around, and this guy with a dodge viper and a z06 pull in. Guy was like 22, and apparently daddy bought him the car. So he comes up to me and starts telling me how much he doesnt like the rx8, without knowing its mine. I listen to his ignorance then i say thats funny cause i love driving it everyday. hes like that sucks, and walks away

later on he pulls out onto the highway, and tries to show off by bouncing the rpms off the rev limiter while cruising at like 10 mph, he drops the clutch, and CLANK!!!! GRRRRRRRINND, ERRRR. He broke snapped both his back axels and detroyed the tranny. it was so much fun watching the tow truck pick up his 90k dollar car he just ruined. ppl like that should just stay home.

and this is why its fun to see Daddy's little boy or girl trash a car. I'm glad my first car wasn't anything that great. It was a sunfire, and I bagged the hell out of it. Once you learn respect then you can move up. He won't learn, cause he never had to pay for it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!

What a freaking moron.

man, u should've take a picture, cuz I think most of us wanna see the fear on his face. why? cuz he knows that his daddy going to kick his ***.

Its just sad that kids are so spoiled these days. Dad always taught me to go get my own stuff. so yep, my first car is da Rx-8 I earned it on my own, and Im proud of myself.

Ahhh, rx-8 ........ my precious ~~~~

yup i absolutely agree with the both of you, it kinda takes an eyeopener and your own wallet for you to respect driving and any car for the matter

plus you should be responsible for buying your own things, although my first car wasnt the rx8 but instead a honda civic hahaha

hopefully this moron's dad makes him pay for the 10 grand repair bill to learn a lesson

quick question. but why do ppl think vette fits in the muscle car catagory? i see it more as a sports car then a muscle car.

Lots of torque and acceleration.

A sports car is an automobile designed with handling in mind intended for performance driving. A muscle car is an automobile with a high horse power engine capable of producing high levels of acceleration.

It has long had a history of being a powerful straight-line car. But now, the 'vette is a great handler as well. So it's clearly both.

But I would say it's both.
so my next question is, would you consider a Ferrari, lambo to a be a muscle car? i am not a vette fan (even though 67 vette is probably my favorite car next to a 65 cobra) but from reading reviews, the handleing aspect of the vette is comparable to a ferrari F430. but i dont know because for one im not rich enough to drive a F430 and as for the vette, not rich enought to drive that one either

btw here is the specs of the 2007f430
weight 2755
483 hp at 8,500 rpm
343 pound-feet of torque at 5,250 rpm

2008 Lamborghini Murcielago
Weight 3671.3 lbs
632 hp and
660 pound-feet of torque

and vette 2008
weight 3217
430 hp and 424 pound-feet of torque

corvettes are totally not muscle cars...as many corvette fans will tell you

i think muscle cars by *definition* are your regular bread 'n butter cars w/ monster engines. the original gto, for instance, was just a pontiac tempest w/ a high performance motor dropped in. so a true modern equivalent would be the old taurus sho, or the magnum r/t or srt8, and a true modern muscle car incarnate probably should be the lancer evolution and impreza wrx...even tho they turn, the concept is the same. corvette has been outright sports cars since day one. they may be ancient and still have leaf springs (which i really don't understand why) and run on big low tech engines, but they're still outright sports cars from the get-go

Man, I'm glad my dad told me..."If you want something, get it yourself." I then bought a $500 1990 Mercury Topaz and trashed the crap out of it over the next two years.

5 years later, here I am paying on my own RX-8, and would never DREAM of being that retarded/ignorant/arrogant/annoying/etc/etc....

Awesome story, the kid got what he deserved.

Yes , so many people think Vettes are muscle cars , there not. They can be turned into very potent dragsters, but there true blooded sports cars.

Alfy 27, you owe it to yourself to test drive a Corvette. There like the RX-8 , with just 3 times the Torque and twice the HP. The Vettes can handle really well, for such a high hp car it a very predictable sports car. I feel more comfortbale driving a 505 HPZ-06 than my 483Hp Twin Turbo Z. My Z was scary to drive and unpredictable , push her to hard and she would bite you in the ***, especially in the corners.
