All new Hyundai Sonata is a real winner

Well, back in the 70's Honda had a bad rap similar to Hyundai's in recent years. The car maker made some good steps with the current tiburon, and looks to be continuing in the right direction. It will be interesting to watch them in the years to come, but I wouldn't jump on the Hyundai bandwagon just yet. They still have alot of self proving to do.

No, I don't work for Hyundai or the auto industry. However, I have tracked trends for a number of years and I have been extremely accurate in the past. In the PAST. If something in my brain clicks or a light goes off, you can bet it's significant.
That's why I said place your bets folks. You guys know where I'm placing mine.

I think that Hyundai is going to become a fairly well respected car company in the near future, barring any major screw-ups. Their newer products are leaps and bounds ahead of their older ones, and they just seem to keep getting better (although it doesn't take much to get better than some of their older cars). If this trend continues, they will become major players in the auto industry before too much longer, especially if they can muster up a competitive performanced-oriented halo car for a reasonable price to really get everyone's attention.

That car is trying to be too many things at the same time...the rear end is like the previous Honda Accord, it has some audi in it...and a few other cars just to finish it off...
I think my wife would pass in a sec, especially since she has a Mazda 6

You guys will just have to wait to see one in person. I have seen and sat in it in a couple trim levels in the showroom and have seen it out on the road. The exterior is a winner, no doubt about it. My Korean brochure has bigger and better pics of the car than that website I gave in the first post. But even the brochure doesn't quite give the feel of seeing the actual car on the road. The exterior is very pleasant and non-offensive looking. The interior looks european and the materials feel like Camry/Accord level quality.
The 2.0 and 2.4 liter four bangers are new, modern designs in a joint effort with DaimlerChrysler and Mitsubishi. The Korean market does not have a six cylinder. The US market has to have one, of course, and I'm curious if it will be a new one from the same joint venture or just a rehashed version of the old one.

The styling of that car is so unmistakably Korean, by which I mean imitation Japanese. Specifically, it looks like a cheap copy of an Accord. This seems to be common in Korea though, if you spend some time in Japan and go visit Korea, their latest fashions and pop music will remind you of what was popular in Japan 1-2 years ago.
It will be interesting to see it up close though, the quality of Korean cars is improving, so it might be a good value.

However, this is the first Korean car to chop together a bunch of borrowed elements such that the result is better looking than the other cars they came from. In other words, when you see it in person for the first time, you should find that it ain't cheap looking.
And the styling is not unmistakably Korean AT ALL. That's what's so remarkable about it. I saw all the Korean chop shop jobs on the road. They got cars that look like almost everything from Lexus, Infiniti, and Lincoln from the 90's. They even got a car that looks just like a Buick. Even on the roads IN Korea, this Sonata looks distinctively different, almost not Korean, even from the eyes of native Koreans.

Lol.... :D
I think it looks good. The truth is you can't really buy a bad car these days! Now, lets me state "what you pay for is what you get". For the money, I'm sure it's a great car. Not my cup of tea however!!

Sounds like you did. Your narrow minded and stereotypical views are something that higher education often teaches.
