Ford wont import them 'cause that will be a smart/bold move. Though if Pontiac scores a massive major hit with the G8 I hope that Ford will take notice and realize that AU has cars that us American's will like.

The look of the car just well screams "Crown Vic Replacement" which is what it would/will become if brought over. Guess we'll just wait and see.

Nope.
Ford US has already said they have no interest in importing them.
In fact the better bet is that Ford US will kill the OZ production line in 2011 or 12 and import into OZ, like Mitsubishi is doing with the 380.

Not so sure??

I have just read that Ford America are looking for a Large (world) RWD Platform.
for next gen Mustang, Crown Vic.
All are pointing to the Australian made/designed unit.

Ford Australia IMO has to have an export program to sustain production facilities, BUT, more than likely Ford will go the way of Mitsubishi Australia for the sole reason...our production costs are too high (wages) also with the Aussie dollar creeping to US parity exporting is even less attractive.

We all know Australian GM Holden buyers are subsidizing US Pontiac G8 Owners.
