Sounds like as a brand they're being squeezed by kid Honda on the low end, and BMW/Audi/Lexus etc on the other. This will complete their gentrification along with losing the NSX - little to no sport left in the old boy.

As for the RSX, I've always disliked the bland & slab look of the current gen, very generic and uninspiring, plus Honda's insistance on FWD in a sports car world gone RWD/AWD.

Poor Acura they've lost their navigation in mid-ocean. And I doubt things will get better if they eliminate their <$30 offerings. Sad.

Acura seems to be a mess... Its missing 2 big things... 1) RWD sedan/coupe platform and 2) V8 engine. All the competitors offers these 2 things. Its amazing that Acura still sell tons of cars despite these handicaps.

word is they are currently developing a V8 engine based off the V10 engine for the next gen NSX. I am also intrigued by their new venture into Turbo charged engines.
The future seems bright to me.

The RSX has always received praise for the automotive press but the RSX has never sold as well as Acura had hoped. While I never would buy one it's sad to see it go since it is a good, fun, sporty little car.

Yeah, there was a reason the RSX guys were so pissed about the new Civic SI.

the RSX is one of the best FWD cars there is as far as sport and handling. I bet in a few years it will be a sought after tuner car. That K20 engine is amazing, and there is so much aftermarket for it.

They are correct with the assumption that the Civic Si is trumping the RSX base model. They did the same thing to me when I had my CL Type S. They came out with the Accord at 240HP and voice activated controls for less $$. Killed my resale.

I think changing the name was a mistake, the little car aint so bad but for it's price I can get a 8.

Yet another sporty Honda down the drain, I hear the S2K might be on the out's to be replaced by a more expensive sports coupe.

In the entry level to 30K, Honda has NOTHING that I care to remember.

They build great quality cars...but they have about as much passion as a rock.

NSX? S2000? Seems pretty passionate to me... though both are going out of production

i beg to differ. the s2k has run its course, and then some, so its due for a change. The TSX was the replacement for the 4 door integra, so a 2 door TSX COUPE is essentially a new integra/RSX. So really "nothing" is happening other than a new car from acura.

isn't honda supplying V8 to indy or some racing league? Why they don't offer any v8 in the market with some variance of racing engine and production engine of course.....

That's what I'm saying...now what will they have? By the way the NSK is for the rich, so who cares for must of us...the S2K was good but now they are ending it, AGAIN.

Then...they have a bunch of FWD stuff that's OK, but that's about it.

I was considering the rsx-s when I was purchasing a new car. Just at that time, however, the new si was released with nearly the same power. Still a nice little athletic fwd machine. No wonder every other car around here has been a new rsx, they must be dumping them...

Ferrari's are for the rich and probably one of the most passionate car manufacturers, and most of us do care when a new model is released (while we drool that is )
Honda's got couple concepts around... we can only hope

I know, I do that too...but I do less of it now because the sad reality is I can't have one nor honestly would I pay more than 50K for a car even if I was rich. But I understand...

I also hope Honda does something, they are too good of a car company to fall into the bland trap Toyota is trying to dig itself out of.

I traded a 2003 Type S for my 06 Shinka...i really loved that car. It's only real downside was being FWD...the cars handling was sharp, the engine and transmission were great...AND i frequently got 30+ MPG while driving like a dick(fast-ish).

It's sad to see a good car go away...but honda may actually have a new integra in dev.
