Btw there are combustion engines that run on hydrogen only and they don't have a significantly higher efficiency either. Any engine that has to obey thermodynamic laws won't go much higher than 40%.
A fuell cell of course doesn't have to obey thermodynamic laws, but this is a different story.

Actually carbons attached to hydrogen like Methane CH4 is a much worse green house gas than CO2.
That's why we shouldn't eat beef, because cattle burp and fart a lot of Methane.
But then again I rather have an occasional hurricane than forgo steaks for the rest of my life.
