these guys claim to be building a 6 rotor RX-4.

im really not sure if i believe it, let alone believe it will work. thoughts?

I would like to see numbers on that!!!

Jake33 01-11-2012 07:27 PM

I cant begin to imagine how much fuel it would require JUST to start it up. The e-shaft has to be worth more than a gold mine itself

If you could put a man on the moon, then anything is possible.

TeamRX8 01-11-2012 10:37 PM

Jeff Bruce @ Precision Engineering can supply you with the parts

do you think its possible though? he said in his post that all the research and development was done, all that is left is fab work. he also inlcuded in the post that he built Mad Mike's 26B rx-7...i really want to see what this thing will be capable of and what they will use it for. he also said it weighs less than a boosted 26B, quite impressive

I have to really question if this is worth anything but bragging. If you want to reach a certain power goal while staying NA, I guess this would be what to do. But it seems like a 3 or 4 rotor engine with FI would be easier and easily reach most power goals. The picture they posted isn't loading for me... Is there any indication of what the purpose for this build is?

Good question.
The Motec 880 is only up to a quad rotor

RIWWP 01-12-2012 07:08 AM

2 = Bi-rotor
3 = Tri-rotor
4 = Quad-rotor
5 = Quint-rotor
6 = Sex-rotor

This is not a coincidence.

Flashwing 01-12-2012 07:17 AM

Oh...my....god.

Ometta 01-12-2012 07:22 AM

How the heck do you get ahold of a six rotor?

fuztupnz 01-12-2012 07:22 AM

This might not be the best place to ask, but how can i get that in my 8? I've been thinking about doing a swap but i didn't want to create a new thread. I have about $4000 dollars to spend. I've done a lot of searching and reading so i think it can be done. What do you think?

:fruit: someone had to do it.

sex-rotor. Fitting. That is one long ass engine.

You make one. Looks like 13b housings. At least i think that's what the casting says.

RotaryTherapy 01-12-2012 07:38 AM

These are the same guys who have been building all of Mad Mike's cars, can't wait to see what insanity this sex-rotor will produce :D

wcs 01-12-2012 08:25 AM

Ok ok ... someone has to say this.

What about the fuel mileage!?!?!!?

RIWWP 01-12-2012 08:29 AM

They haven't installed the 3rd wheel yet in place of the standard gas tank so they can fit their "short commute" gas tank.

You could always split it into 2 three rotors tuning wise i guess. I'm not sure about that, it depends on the rotor's orientation.

Mawnee 01-12-2012 09:20 AM

Cant wait to hear that beast!
