LOL That WAS the cliffnotes version of the debate... I spared you (and myself) the pain of going into the gory details.

I don't remember the name of the track off the top of my head, I think it was VIR, where the Mustang clocked the same laptime as the M3.

The 5.0 just poster a 12.7 quarter mile pass with a 4.4 second sprint to 60. I did NOT expect it to be anywhere near those speeds (more power has never really helped the Mustang in the past, just leads to more and more wheel hop). I think it has more to do with the new 6-speed transmission rather than the increase in power. The new Mustang looks badass though. Nice to see Ford FINALLY get it right.

Ford should never go with IRS again for the Mustang. They did it with the Terminator Cobras and the results were terrible. Owners with lightly modified Cobras (intake, pulley, tune) were killing the **** out of their IRS off the line at the drag strip ($$$). Ford has done a really good job with the solid rear axle as far as handling is concerned.

I've ALWAYS hated Mustangs, but this new 5.0 looks like an absolute nightmare for Chevy. Ford and Chevy really are sticking it to the Japanese. The new Camaro SS actually beat the Evo X MR through the slalom and smokes it in a drag race. Now the Mustangs even faster? Shiiiiit

Damn impressive for a car with a solid rear axle. I wonder which circuit at VIR they did.. the M3 really isn't a lightweight that it used to be.

I have to say that I cannot wait for my test drive this coming May.
