For an American car, that interior is absolutely amazing! Hell, for any car actually...

I'm going to bust your ***** a little on this - you're bragging about income but you bought a used 2005 rx-8 and haven't paid it off yet? This will easily cost more than twice what you paid for the 8.
Yep, about actually after a corporate discount. Never like to overspend on anything. Bought the RX-8 right after I got my M.S. in (EDIT: May, not June, bought the car in June, start my job in early July) and had no clue what kind of salary I would be getting. Research positions in pharmaceutical companies have their perks.

If it drives well, I may be interested. Otherwise I'll pass.

Nice but I like the old CTS-V styling a little better.
...wonder why GM put the emphasis on more hp instead of seeking further refinement, better fuel efficiancy or a sequential/ DSG type tranny. 500+ ponies is a little rediculous for country club duty.

There's hope for GM.

This car proves it, with a resounding ping.

Style and interior fit and finish look superb.

My only beef is that they damn rear and front bumpers are unecessarily large.

If they price it at a 10% discount to the BMW 5 Series, I'd actually prefer it.

GM is taking a nice run at gaining or regaining customers with products like this. I personally like every aspect of this new CTS-V that I have seen. I like the agressive looking exterior and the interior just made my jaw drop the first time I got a look at the pics (wonder if it's as good in person). I wish I could afford one! What is Ford going to do to keep up with GM on this one?

Actually, Lincoln is coming out with the MKS with the current v-6 (270hp). Within a year they will offer a turbo version with around 350hp. We might expect to see a more-tame version of the MKR-concept after that based on this line with around 450hp or so with AWD. Purely speculation at this point of course - but it'd be cool.

that interior is gorgeous! I'd have to see it in person to get a better feel for it but based on the picture, it's defintely better then what we usually see in American cars.

Horsepower is INSANE! Definitely shows glimpses of what we'll see in the future.

Thumbs up from me

I love it. I've had the oppurtunity to drive the entire Cadillac "V" Line on Road Atlanta and am pretty impressed.

Other than shitty american interiors, I could definitely drive a CTS V daily. Also, not too crazy about the gearbox, and it had a tendency to overheat on the track.

I like the interior look, but not all that impressed by the exterior. The most stunning thing about the car is the powerplant. 550 horsepower is incredible, but how much will it cost. They can definitely steal M3 owners with this car if it's priced correctly.

This car will steal E63 AMG owners away from Mercedes... My budies has a E55 AMG with 487HP/506TRQ, it's a monster of a sedan that will embaress regular vettes and nip on the tails of 911 twin turbos(last gen), and now Caddy brings this out...GOOD GOD! 550HP/550TRQ!

If worse case senario , the car is a total flop in the handeling department(which i doubt) if i was in anything less than a 505HP Z-06 I wouldn't even want to line up with this car at a stop light.... something tells me the gloves are off with this next CTS-V! GM is out for blood!

I really like this car. Might be my next car. Has it all, really nice interior, will have a good handling package (will be using the MSRC suspension system in the current Vettes), and I like the exterior. Expect to start around mid/high 50's. Probably nicely loaded you will be looking at in the low to mid 60K's. Will be between this and the new AMG C63, M3, and on the lower cost side the S5.

I like what Cadillac has done over the last 5 years. Until more recently it seems like the only GM division that has seen the light and is trying.

That CTS coupe looks awesome and is a step in the right direction.

anyone notice a resemblance of the CTS's gauges to ours? Had to do a double take. But those seats look real nice.

I'm not trying to sway your opinion but haven't you seen some of the other vehicles GM has developed recently? The Sky and Solstice are not everyones cup of tea but I like them. Although I haven't seen any praise for it here I did get a chance to get into a G6 and it was better than what I was used to seeing in past GMs. The G8, new Malibu, Acadia, the '06 to current Corvette Z06 (and now the ZR1) and forthcoming Camaro (although the verdict is still out on that one) are all looking like pretty good steps outside of Cadillac! I'm still waiting to see more from Buick and maybe just a tad bit more out of Saab!
