2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Revealed
2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Revealed
Looks pretty spiffy. I, as many others, are sorely awaiting the advent of the new Evo. At the very least they seemed to have stayed true to the concept for the base Lancer and I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Side profile looks the best...
Front and particularly the rear bumper and rear lamps looks a little old and ugly IMO.
An improvement on todays very old 1980's looking Lancer.
Probably looks better in the flesh.

Wow...if this car gets looks also....
I can't wait for the Evo also, this is a GREAT improvement of the previous one and I'll bet the EVO will look mean as heck.
It sure is more "family friendly" than a sports coupe, lol.
Good job Mitsu, it does not nock off my socks but it's alot nicer than the current car.

well - if i ever have to give up the RX8 in the future for something that can hit 400 HP with a few cheap mods... the Evox looks like it would be attractive. I Just dont like the whole stigma that goes along with it of being the 18 year old boy racer type car.
Meh - i just paid off my RX8 so im happy for a long time.

I absolutely love the way the RX-8 looks, but the idea of having a 300+ hp, 4-door, AWD, w/ DSG in a sedan, (and all the space benefits that come with it) pretty much seals the deal. If it looks even just slightly less boy-racerish than the current model it'll still be hard to turn down.
I see hints of the Dodge Charger in the fascia, which is a good thing. I like it.
Did Mitsubishi change designers? Even the Outlander (weird name) looks good now.
What do you guys think of the Ralliart version of the JDM Colt?

What happened to the concept? That looked way cool, even though it looked like that Kim Yong Dong guy. But why have a concept if the final product doesn't even stay close. Thankfully, cars like the Viper, Solstace, the 8, 350, stayed very close.
Anyways, I still have little interest in anything turbo and AWD, particularly in an upright sedan. But why such a vanilla wrapper for a great car? Maybe a sleeper argument, but any cop worth a donut would know an Evo from a Lancer.

If you wanna see an outrageous departure from concept look at Mazda. The Kabura and all the other fun concepts they have out now will have production models that look nothing like their concepts.
It looks like a lot of cars to me, but I most agree with the volvo statements. It definitely looks better than the current lancer, sportier and stronger looking.
It kinda looks like an angry volvo..

The next Ralliart Lancer could be very interesting. Rumors are swirling that it will be FI and maybe even have AWD. It makes sense, the STi has its nemesis in the Evo, why shouldn't the Lancer Ralliart rival the WRX...
If that's true... that could really be a car to own. If Mitsubishi does improve the Evo's interior, then pricing could start to get up there... however a WRX equivilent model would still be pretty affordable...
