2007 STI Limited

first to reply. nice picture

Nice. Now THIS is an STI that I could consider purchasing...
|
wow, 800 units in US; 1/2 white, 1/2 gray.
|
Hey, it's how an STi looks after 3 beers...
...I think I need another 3 beers before it becomes beautiful. Such a shame...a champion chassis and powerplant with a U-G-L-Y body. Now, if you could put the STi engine & AWD setup in the 8, then you'd really have something. |
Very nice, too bad the dealers are going to rape people on it and ask for at least $40,000 for it.
|
Shame. They were so close to making it look good, and it still came out uglier than hand-painted sin.
|
Better (but maybe it's just the lack of park bench spoiler).
I'm sure it shares absolutely no components with the WRX though :mdrmed: |
this is the more mature STi that I'd definitely consider getting.
|
Better.......but still not there yet......keep working Subaru :)
|
Wow, they actually de-riced the STi a little and classed it up a bit. I guess this is the future of "econoboxes".
|
It might be a limited production run next year, but wait one more year, it'll become a trim level. They did this with Legacy Spec B, limited in 06, a trim option in 07, and its beautiful, except for the exterior haha.
Check it out at Subaru.com, its a flash site, cant give you guys a direct link sorry. Its got a new intelligent drive thing, its like 3 different fuel maps, for fuel economy, and 2 sport modes, and you can manually switch it. FYI, subaru refers to their leather trimmed option as "limited", just like GS and GT in RX-8, they have "i" and "limited" Although we all agree on here that this de-ricing of the STi is uncalled for, but its actually a smart move by Subaru, could draw more buyers that want the power but cant take the unacceptable DUAL rice wings and Kia interior. I say good move subaru, and you can always add the wing back after if you like it. |
If they get rid of the turbo (hate lag, hate how turbos hang on to revs), the AWD (hate the understeer/oversteer transition), the ugly body, econocar roots, 3400 pound weight, etc....it would be a nice car. :hahano:
STI...Stats Toy for Imbeciles. |
That would not be an STI at all. You named everything about the car and said get rid of it....

STI...Stats Toy for Imbeciles. Unfortunately its still AWD, but has the other features you are looking for Horsepower: 173 hp Torque: 166 ft-lbs. Curb Weight: 3067 lbs. |

wait...wait...wait...has it sunk in yet?? ;-) |
I don't really know why, but I actually mourn the loss of the wing on that version :scratchhe...Definitely needs a nice, subtle wing to set off the rear end a bit, imo.
And for the love of God, get rid of that pig snout! I want so bad to like the looks of this car! |
Wow Ike, he kind of sounds like you talking about the 8 all the time haha. Getting a little touchy are we?

See.... a big wing looks better on a STI

By the way, if it is all about being faster, even my slowest motorcycle can crush your STI. |

You are actually proving my point.
Subjective? Smoothness and refinement...every car scrib went on about this with the 8 and its rotary, same thing with its ride. Hardly sbjective. The same scribes refer to STIs an EVOs as uncompromising, which is fine if thats what you want, but I'll take a better rounded package anyday. I don't take my racebike to work, rather I take my other bike that a better all rounder, what do I got to prove??? As for feel, yeah thats more subjective. But many MANY enthusiasts think that a front-mid engine rear wheel drive car (non-live axle) is the best layout, especially when its light. Maybe 'cause I'm 38, I've moved beyond stats. Maybe one day it'll be a secondary consideration for you too. |

But, the real question here is, why are you so insecure about your car that you feel the need to post in every STi/Evo thread about how much you hate these cars? Obviously there is something about these cars that you fear. These are both cars that are loved by automotive mag writers and car enthusiasts alike. Yet you continually enter these threads to bash and call names. You're 38? More like 8. How about you go back to enjoying [insert mod edit here] Car. |
