I personally think it looks too much like the current GTO. I'd rather have the old GTO if I had the choice! I am leaning towards a Photochop!

It pulled a .96 skidpad rating which is a bit higher than our car, it is equipped with AWD and probably much better tires than us, stock. This thing might not handle as well as our car but its damn close and I think the slalom speeds are very similar as well. Either way, as soon as you leave the corner, this car will leave you no question about it. I kind of wish this was real, always loved the GNX of the 80's.

I could see them doing it. The original muscle cars of the 60s were all based on one body/chassis anyway, with each division adding it's own little identity to each model.

The problem with General Motors is that identity system doesnt mean anything anymore, and they dont know how to get out of it.

not only does gm use the same chassis as many of their old models, the use the same body panels, in many cases the only thing that changes are the options and the paintjob..... and the badges.

gm may make a few ballsy cars, but they are too conservative to take any real chances.

GM needs to fire all the Buick stylists and get the team that designed the Maserati Quatroporte. Whenever I see that car, I think that's what Buick's flagship sedan would look like, in an alternate universe where GM isn't being strangled by pension plans and bad management.

Personally, my theory is they will wait for the next-gen Camaro. The new Camaro chassis will be shared with the next-gen GTO, but it wouldn't make economic sense to stop there, so maybe they'll have a new GNX. If they do, I"m betting they give it the same LS6 as the Camaro and GTO to save design costs, instead of a turbo motor (Either that, or all three cars end up as overweight FWD slushbox-only cars.) Not that the LS6 is bad by any means--but "brand engineering" with only cosmetic differences sucks. Buick is currently a car company in the same sort of way that AutoEXE or GReddy is a car company.

Best looking sedan on the market IMO. Have you seen one in person? Photos do it no justice

Well, the Japanese car makers haven't been known for originality lately, seeing as how 90% of the cars look the same. As for handling, the GTO does pretty darn good for a 3700lb beast.

I agree on the photochop however. If only it were true. When GM turbo's something, they don't mess around.

Hey Guys... Im the kid who made that "concept" I Was bored one night and couldn't sleep so I photoshoped that. Its was just a joke... Someone could only dream GM would build anything close to it.

It’s funny how things change around as they get passed around on the internet... Some of the stats have changed a little since I posted them on the RegalGS forum... Such as the AWD... It posted it as RWD.

Just going around the boards and letting people know whats up, and answering any questions people have.

No way man. Those Buick turbo guys are some of the coolest, most knowledgeable and best funded around. There are quite a few in their 50's, but those guys love horsepower as much as any 16 year old does. Check it out...

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/

Twenty years ago those Grand National guys put up with so much **** from the entire V8 community when that car came out. Despite the massive HP numbers that could be had relatively easily on that 3.8L turbo V6, lots of people tried to discredit anything and everything about the Grand National because it wasn't perceived to be traditional "Americana". Now the car's a novelty and uber-cool in both tuner and muscle car circles. It hasn't always been that way.

yeah but there problem is there is less than 500 of them, and to tell you the truth its the only cool thing buick has produced. and since when did "tuners" know what the hell a GNX is? i know more knowledgable muscle car guys definately know of that car, but not tuners. and turbo regals and turbo GN's are fast and all but if i want a muscle car, i want to look like a badass, not like an old fart.

Ooo, you don't want to use that word around here or the thread will get closed down. Say...gerkin. Like this:

Anyone wanna gerkin?

or...

So I'm rolling down the turnpike last night, and this dip in a Civic pulls alongside looking for a gerkin.

Oh, this'll be fun -

Saw a guy in an STi roll up next to these three chicks in a VW Saturday night, giving them the ol' hairy eye. The light turned green, and after a really short gerkin, they were left laughing their asses off...

See how it works?

first of- 65 yrs old is not necessarily geriatric, my dad is 65 and is easily in better shape, stronger/faster more endurance than you prbably are. so cut the cracking on older people crap.

second- the grand national is just not for geriatrics. in fact geriatrics wouldnt be able to handle it. nor would any young punk who barely legal driving age who thinks their hopped up civic is the be all and end all of cars. the years it was made it would smoke every production car 0-60 and 1/4 mile even corvettes( the look on vette drivers faces is funny) and porsches and still would while bringing some friends along to enjoy the ride. with mods its just rediculous fast. id be happy to have one now and i know alot of people younger than me that would also

ahh see its appearance over substance you like. typical of kids today. id rather have the modded 400 hp monster inside/ sleeper outside than have the best looking car on the block that cant beat itself down the driveway because i spent so much money on the look that i have no gas money left. thats okay you keep sitting there looking good. add another xbox screen or something. ill be out driving. who's having more fun?
