2006 350z

Well guys, I know I havent posted much here, but I have been browsing and reading for about two years now. I was able to sway my parents into buying a 2005 Rx-8 last August, but when the time came for me to get my new car, I decided upon something else. Being single with just a girlfriend, and no signs of marriage and a family for a few years down the road, I could easily live with a 2 seater. And besides, if I ever wanted to drive the Rx-8, I can always swap with my parents for a week or so. :) So anyways, I know some of you were saying how bland the styling is and how heavy the car is, but I think it looks very nice and it performs pretty darn good too. I really like the little changes they made for the 06 model. The only downside is, I have to wait a few months (1-3) for the car to get here. I decided on getting a 2006 Daytona Blue Enthusiest. I LOVE this color!! Once it comes in, I'll be sure to get some pics of it along side of my parents Winning Blue Rx-8. Here are some pics I took of the color in a different trim (base): (sorry for the blurry images, it was COLD that night)

you suck at posting pics

mysql101 02-27-2006 10:22 PM

You guys must be blind. Thats great pic of his car in a typical PA snow storm.

BlueEyes 02-27-2006 10:22 PM

Nay, you suck at the internet!

:p:

RotaryRider36 02-27-2006 10:24 PM

That color looks just like little red x's. LOL...j/k/ I cant see the pics buddy. Maybe repost them somehow?

silly n00bs, you can't direct link webshot pics

BlueEyes 02-27-2006 10:27 PM

That's some audacity camaro. You're clearly parked in a NO PARKING zone. Had the car for 10 mins and he's already acting like a jackass with it. hahaha, j/k. Looks good, I like that blue.

I think you're searching for the term, 'hotlinking'. But it depends on where it's being hosted.

Just be glad they're not sending goatse photos instead..

Typical Z owner...

mysql101 02-27-2006 10:31 PM

I doubt it's his car. Since his is arriving in a few months...

camaro194 02-27-2006 10:39 PM

Fixed. And yes, is not MY car, but the same one that will be ariving shortly. This was the first time that I was able to find a dealer who had that color on their lot and I needed to get some pics of it and to see it in person before ordering.

So you just posted a bunch of pics of some car sitting at a dealer?! :dunno:

You could say that. I just wanted to show you guys what the car that I just bought looks like.

tiggerlee 02-27-2006 10:45 PM

I really wished Nissan would've painted or redesigned those door handles.

Raptor2k 02-27-2006 10:47 PM

Wow, I haven't seen a blue Z for hours!

camaro194 02-27-2006 11:05 PM

They are actually kind of rare around here. Believe it or not, but I just saw the first blue Z coupe in Pittsburgh the other day. I have only seen 1 blue convertible so far. And the same with the Rx-8's. I have only seen 1 other blue one besides my parents. There arent too many cars like this around here (Z's and 8's). I maybe see one or two a month if I'm lucky.

ZoomZoomH 02-27-2006 11:10 PM

you're in pittsburgh that's why, out on the coasts these cars are everywhere :p:

tiggerlee 02-27-2006 11:11 PM

Maybe not in PA, but their a dime a dozen in Florida. I see at least 10 on my daily commute to work and back.

RotoRocket 02-27-2006 11:18 PM

It's a nice car, and a nice color.

Neither Zs not 8s are at all common in Michigan. Since getting my 8 in late September 05, I've seen maybe two or three 8s, and maybe 5 or 6 Zs.

I am of the understanding that Nissan seriously upgraded the fit/finish and material texture quality on the Z interior lately.

I really like the front end.

playdoh43 02-27-2006 11:29 PM

congrats dude, daytona blue is my favorite color for the Z also. im glad you got an 06 with the rev-up engine (you did get the rev-up engine thats only on 6mt models right? not an automatic). now make sure you drop 400 bucks for Motordyne's MREV mod. it will give you +20-25whp and +30-35wtq. Then youre pretty much on even ground with mustangs GTs and M3s :) unfortuantely thats about the only cheap mod for our engine that gets good power. if you want it any faster youd have to drop rediculous amount of money :(

DUDE NOT THAT I DONT LIKE THE Z BUT PLEASE IF YOUR GONNA PRAISE A CAR (350) IS NOT A GOOD CAR TO TALK ABOUT. YOUR STARTING TO REMIND ME OF DIKE-WRX. I MEAN IM HAPPY FOR YOU AND EVERYTHING BUT IMO THE Z IS VERY AVERAGE. I SEE ATLEAST 5-6 EVERY DAY ALMOST AS COMMON AS A MUSTANG

playdoh43 02-27-2006 11:52 PM

this is the general automotive section where people talk about non-rx8 cars... you seem like the one that has a problem with it. you can easily stay out of the thread? not to mention attack Ike

momo 02-28-2006 12:23 AM

IMO, that is one bad azz car. :Drooling_ Fook all those comments about the car 'being common' the fact is Mazda and Nissan, to name a couple, are mass produced cars. We own RX8's, not Bentleys. :spank: I almost bought one, but we already had a Miata, so we decided to get the RX8 instead. I needed the extra seats and the room.

Captain Amazing 02-28-2006 12:42 AM

Nice car. I heard they bumped the weight up to 3400lbs though.

playdoh43 02-28-2006 12:48 AM

3340 lb give or take a few depending on trim

BlueEyes 02-28-2006 12:54 AM

More random facts:
1) It has a 20 gallon fuel tank, which I found to be pretty big for a sports car.
2) nolarx8 likes his boyfreind to wear leather chaps when he rides.

My 81'Z has a 21.5 gallon tank. I don't know why they made them so big.

camaro194 02-28-2006 06:40 AM

Yeah, I defintly love the little changes they made for 06. I cant wait for it to get here so I can see what the new bi-xenons are like. And yes, I did get the 6MT, so I have the 300 hp rev-up engine.

Playdoh43, what year do you have?

rx8wannahave 02-28-2006 07:07 AM

The 350Z is a fine looking and performing car, my only grip is with it's butt. It's like they got back there and didn't know what to do. I've seen some small tails that make the butt look alot better so it's fixable.

If I didn't need my back seats I would have at least test driven a 350Z.

Congrats and enjoy!

toxin440 02-28-2006 08:39 AM

whatever floats your boat man... id take a Z if they were giving them away, but i wouldnt pay for one.

I <3 my RX8 :)

Jeff

Thanks! I agree about the "big butt" thing, but only with the convertible. I think the coupe has very nice lines. Yeah, I really had to weigh the fact that I'm not going to have a backseat. But, I only use the car driving to work every day, getting groceries, and for going out with the gf on the weekends. If I need something for bigger items or for hauling around more people, we can use her car. The car will be paid off by the time I plan on having kids, so I can get something else down the road if the need arises. And after driving an Rx-8 with the sunroof, the Z feels a little less claustrophobic even though it has less interior space, especially regarding headroom. I love both cars, and I'm glad that they each made it into my family. I get the best of both worlds :D:

rx8wannahave 02-28-2006 09:27 AM

^Yup, it's a fine car and I'm glad Nissan has made such a comeback. But...GOD help them with their new Sentra.... :puke:

nranly 02-28-2006 09:42 AM

I would be excited and proud to own that car or an RX-8. :)

solorflare 03-02-2006 10:26 PM

Sweet car, my parants are buying me a car also! We're so blessed to have such nice parants. :Peace:

yiksing 03-02-2006 10:38 PM

Someone please photoshop a skyline coupe's rear onto the 350Z, I always wonder how it looks. The Z is nice but it could use a nicer buttocks.

contradict to you...i wud love to see them have a g35 front to match z rear :)

yiksing 03-04-2006 08:38 PM

Someone should try all combination, I suppose its actually possible to switch bumper and fenders on the real thing for this.

RoXanneBlack8 03-04-2006 09:36 PM

i test drove the Z before deciding to order the 8. i had a black 6 speed track model lined up but decided against it. gotta love factory brembos but i the moment i turned the key to start the Z i missed the unique sound of a rotary starting up. they are great cars but they just arent "for me". the 8 is unique and thats how i like to be, i dont like to blend in and most 8 owners agree with that feeling. thats something the Z cant give.

and while its faster, its just not as tossable like the 8s feel. it just isnt as fun, but they are great sounding cars. u gotta love the signature 350z exhaust note. every car friend of mine knows when a Z is ripping down the street! its definately a car that demands respect from other enthusiasts! much respect bro, have fun with it!

congrats bro! just dont crash it!!!!!!!

Mugatu 03-04-2006 10:03 PM

Hi, welcome to the "General Automotive" section of the forum. It's a place where you can "Discuss all things automotive here other than the RX-8". If you only want to talk about the Rx-8, stay out of the General Automotive section. K, thanks. :knob:

This is general automotive, if you don't like talking about and seeing other cars leave.

Ike 03-05-2006 12:11 AM

Bah, I guess I should have read page 4 before my response ;)

Congrats on the Z purchase, I am sure you will like the car, nice color choice too.
