2005 Legacy GT Vs WRX/WRX STi and the RX-8
I dunno about everyone else, but I screw the WRX. Never liked the Impreza. The Legacy... I've loved that car for about 3 or 4 generations now. So what if the STi is faster? The Legacy has more room, looks less boy racer and with a couple mods should be able to play tag nicely...

So... a Legacy or an RX-8? That's a bit of a tough one...

I would of bought the STI/EVO but it's ugly, boy racer boxiness is what turned me off. Still sweet cars though......
I will highly consider the Legacy on my next car.
Stick with the 8 you'll be smiling all day when people of all ages stop to look and wonder about your car.

Well, I've been ALL over the place trying to find my first ever NEWish car and recently I learned about the Legacy GT. It cost about $25-27,000 has AWD and looks pretty good. I like the interior and it's faster than the RX8.
Looks and in the turns you have to give it to the RX8 but the AWD and comfort will probably go to the Legacy. I think there are alot of good cars out there and you probably will just have to go test drive one.
Just maybe...I would look into test driving one but I think I can't afford another car on my list, that would push the decision another 3 months out...LOL. At least I have alot of possiblities out there but its down to
GTO
RX-8
(G35 is out because of price and the rear seat headroom)
Legacy GT cost a little out of my range NEW but maybe there will be a used one out there
With that said, I still think the RX8 will win out based on looks, the extra little doors, and fun factor.

I wish I was moved back to the US and buying right now... oh well.
I love the 8. I've been in love with the 7 since gen 1 and a high school friend had a brand new FD (lucky wasn't he). I've got two neighbors here with 8's and I am drooling over them everytime I go out to my car.
But...
The 2005 Mustang.. my father has had 4 Mustangs... the last one was formerly mine. Like father like son... I love my Stangs. The change in look is nice... IMHO. I like it. We'll see how long it's looks hold though. Either way, 300hp V8 and a pretty decent skidpad according to the car mags... it's hard to say no, but seeing as how I have kids to consider in the next 2-3 years... not practical.
Legacy GT.... OH YEAH! I fell in love the first time I saw it at the Tokyo Motorshow and fell in love again the first time I saw it on the road. If any car could turn me from the 8.. this is it. Flat out faster, more room (I'm a big guy) and I'm not big on "getting looks." I'm a fan of sleepers. "Getting looks" helps getting tickets. I prefer a stylish and classy look that is sporty yet understated. basically... think current M3 or previous M5.
Damn... I can't wait to move back and buy a new car...

I thought the Legacy was going to be my next car, I took a test drive and fully expected to want to hand over the keys to my WRX and get it that day. I left disappointed, it's a fun car but not nearly as fun as my WRX or an STi. It would take pretty considerable suspension work to get it anywhere near the STi, and a lot more money to get it to the point of being as fast as the STi. If I were to get a more practical car at this point from Subaru, I'd chose the Forester XT over the Legacy GT.

Screw gas mileage
The legacy is a nice, classy looking car, but it's not going to turn any heads like an RX-8 will. BTW, the WRX looked a LOT better when they changed the headlights from the circles
