2005 G35 sedan, makeover

Looks like they finally figured out the coupe styling is much better than the sedan.

Sedan now 277hp. G35C now 295hp. Price increase by less than $500, new upgraded interior, standard 19" aluminum rims on the coupe. Crazy stuff.

The only noticable difference in appearance is the lower portion of the front end and the rims. Did they do something else externally?

How does that look like anything different than the older one or the coupe?

What I liked was the addition of an AWD option to the Sedan (so the car can better compete with more established luxary models). Actually gives one a reason to consider the Sedan over the Coupe. I enjoy my mother's coupe plenty though

I love the look of the G35C and with 19's its going to look even better.

The sedan still doesn't do it for me, but I won't call it ugly.

Well, I think the new sedan looks a lot more like the coupe than before. They pretty much took the hood/grill/front bumper/side sills from the coupe and slapped it on the sedan. I think the new sedan looks much better than the old one. Also got standard LSD on all models, power increase and upscale interior

New interior

New exterior

The old one

The coupe looks pretty much the same as the current one~ kind of hard to improve on design perfection :D.

You mean updated interior; nothing upscale about Nissan interiors.

What coupe is he talking about yall? Surely he's not biased enough to call that ugly *** G coupe "perfection."

Scorp, all you ever do is bash other cars, usually a Nissan, or myself. You're just about the most useless member on this board and you have yet to contribute something that's actually useful or backed up by real info.

stop fighting Anyhow I'm wondering if the coupe will come with a 4wd option... A 6speed 4awd Nissan, maybe with a turbo or twin turbo. Sounds like a Skyline to me!

The G35 is a "Skyline". No the coupe will not get AWD and turbo, that will be the GT-R whenever it comes out. I thought G35 = Skyline is common knowledge?

That it is. Perfect, beautiful car. That, the Aztek, the Element, the FX, the CTS; all just as beautiful.

Maniac is right. It doesn't matter if you or I don't like the way the G35 sedan or coupe look. The current G35 sedan looks like it was stamped from a sardine can. It is especially ugly when the clearcoat has worn off or is dirty. Nissan appears to have fixed that problem by making it look more like the G35 coupe. Looking at the pic, I'm not exactly sure what has been changed with the interior (I'll have to visit my local Infiniti dealership), but the lines and edges appear smoother/rounder. That center dash thing with the clock "sits" smoothly in rather than "stapled" in.

I also think the current G35 front end will age quickly and the interior looks like crap, BUT many other people think they look great or fine. The changes that Maniac outlined together with the increased HP will ENSURE that the G35 coupe and sedan will continue to sell well.

Those are some prudent, heads-up changes by Nissan, which has produced some of the most under-engineered cars on the other side of the Pacific from the US! But the average dipshit on this side of the Pacific whose extended family has been buying GM/Ford/Chrysler complete crap for generations will never realize that truth. Thus, Maniac is completely right.

Nissan has already shown a willingness to address flaws (that are not too costly) quickly, as it did with the Altima interior. The Altima is a COMPLETE piece of **** inside and out, but now the interior is at least acceptable. It will continue to sell to a ton of lower income folks who have the IQ of a peanut.

To keep pace, Mazda will have to make corresponding HP increases to the RX8.
