Also, they only offer Sequential Manual Gearbox, becuase it shifts faster than manuals, and it is the next big thing in transmissions. Lambo, BMW, Ferrari, and now porsche is getting into the mix of SMG. Lets face it, not that many people buy manuals anymore.
That's because people are lazy and they don't realize how much freaking fun having to work for your driving experience can be!

New 7 series in the UK is a complete flop.

Worth well under 50% of its sales price 2nd hand after only 18 months, worlds fastest 'refresh' of a cars styling know.

The 5 series will sell well, only because , in the UK, there isnt much competition.

The X5 is only a decent car because they stole all the off road tech from (Range)Rover. The platform though is BMW's and a great one at that, which means the next range rover will use a ford platform , oops.

BMW's are superbly engineered machines mostly, but their styling doesnt do it for me, and least here their stereotyped driver attitude isnt somehting I'd like to be associated with.

The article said 0-200 km/hr in 13 seconds. The 1/4 mile should come before that (120 MPH).

The hood looks boring, maybe needs a rotary accent.

Here in the states where it matters, it's kicking luxoboat ***. Heavier than most, and still kills them in every performance category.

That's not the "only" reason.

Yeah, we all know Bimmer drivers just LOVE going off-road. The X is a "decent car" not because of off road tech (which was lowsy until they introduced xDrive) but because even @ 5000 lbs, it drives like a true BMW.

their stereotyped driver attitude isnt somehting I'd like to be associated with.
You're going to miss out on a lot if you're that concerned with other people's opinions.

SMG, no rowing. Left hand on the wheel and down shift paddle, right hand on center console for upshift (pull pack)

Sad thing about this is that most people who could afford it and buy it are old people who care less about a car's performance.

Speaking of which - BOO to the new M5! The 200-2003 M5 was the last of the super sedans to offer a manual trans, the Audi RS6 and Mercedes E55 had gone auto. Now BMW joins them with this SMG. Yeah, the SMG is far better than an auto from a mechanical efficiency standpoint, but it's still no clutch-pedal-and-row-your-own-gear-lever.

Cadillac CTS-V Series and Maserati Quattroporte. Yipee!

How is the Caddy "soft" versus the M5? Because reportedly it handles as well or better than an M5, has equal power, weighs 200 lb less, is more fuel efficient, is from a 20% more reliable make (check JD Power 2003 three year Vehicle Dependability Study) or because you can buy one for $30k less? I'll agree on the interior styling.
